This + Filmcraft are objectively decent and in some areas are better than the FOSS alternatives. I did some basic editing with both and didn't have any crashes. Photocraft has fewer lines of code than Gimp and it launches instantly.
>>
>>749870647
>Photocraft has fewer lines of code than Gimp and it launches instantly.
kek yeah that's what people leave out when saying it's vibecoded trash, the human-made alternative has been cooking for like 20 years and is still not very good, with plenty of bugs of its own
Imagine if some small team of humans made these programs instead, they'd be hailed as computer wizards and everyone would wonder how they got it to a beta state so fast

Why do people even glaze Steam so much? I'd rather rip every game so it can be launched straight from the .exe without having a dozen "steamwebhelper" running in the background . I dgaf about achievements or social features although reviews are nice.
>>
Why do I need an alternative to steam? I’ve never had an issue with it.
>>
>>749869284
>claude make a steam clone, then copy/paste all pc games and port all console exclusives to it
>>
>>749871063
Because Steam engages in unfair business practices by taking a massive 30% cut from sales (even though they had 0 involvement in the development of those games). They also allow customers to refund games after beating them. Like imagine eating an entire meal at a restaurant and refunding it.

These business practices heavily penalize developers which makes it harder for them to finance and develop new games. You need to be able to think beyond 1 degree of abstraction to understand why this is bad.

>>
>>749869749
I honestly dont see the point too much in decomps when emulation offers essentially the same but on a grander scale. Also emulation benefits all games, decomps will largely benefit only the popular ones.
>>
>>749869085
Steam is useless bloatware that runs in the background sucking up resources. Why the fuck would anyone want it in the first place?

>>
>>749871220
Idgaf. I’m an end consumer. The platform is working well for me.
>>
>>749871220
Okay, so you've vibeslopped a copy of steam's client successfully (not very hard to do, mind you), and let's say you even procured some games that you want to sell on that platform. But oh shit - you actually need a CDN to deliver those games to people. Those files aren't just going to magically appear on your customers' computers. So you need to get some servers - all around the world too, north and south america, europe, australia and asia - what is your agent going to do? Get on AWS? Azure? Or maybe even use your AI's data centers for storage and delivery, that's a good trick. Anyway, that's a problem for future you to worry about, we're dethroning gaben here.
Next thing you need to do is establish a working workflow with payment processors (unless you want your payments come only through crypto, but even steam stopped doing that because of how volatile that sector is. but you know better of course) and that's gonna be free, wink wink.
Oh, and you also need to have a working and fast and robust refund system. Do you have enough funds to amortize the refunded games? Surely you're not going to ask the developers that you transferred the money to to send it back :^)
Oh, and you also need to set up a customer service too, but surely AI can do it easily. You just need a dozen agents (well, maybe a couple dozen, your service is going to be booming after all) in every language ready to help your customers 25/7. Claude, provide support to an online gaming store, make no mistakes.
And I am not even talking about hosting, monitoring and moderating user feedback forums, reviews, curators, in-store advertisements, worskhop...
...and speaking of hosting things. It's the end of the fiscal year, you've graciously gave away 100% of the revenue from games you've sold to their developers - after all, you had 0 involvement in their development - and your agent is happy to present you the bill for the AWS cluster it chose to host and deliver your games. And your tokens.
>>
>>749869085
