>>750959929wait why quake 2 and not custom robo or gundam extreme vs?
>>750960016let's see your work
how do you tard wrangle Claude to still decompile shit?
>>750959929Bump
I am so depressed bro. I was using craft anything to make my mordhau clone. Chatgpt runs it without a fuss, but it's making some retarded botch job. I was hoping Claude would actually get it done but it turns out the retards behind Craft Anything couldn't actually get Claude to decompile shit as claimed. It's all so tiresome.
Working on Metal Gear NES remake from scratch. An anon had an idea for a 2 player versus mode of the game, so that's actually in. There's two modes; one is a team versus where you infiltrate your opponents base and compete to find explosives, unlock all the rooms you need to and get all the items you need to get to the opponents super computer and blow it up.There is a randomization element and I designed the buildings and palettes for the teams to be bright like Double Dare style blue and red. I even considered making it "paintball" themed for this mode, so if you shoot a guard they'll put their arms up and then walk off the map. You also get points for your time, for not being spotted and for no kills, but if your opponent blows up your super computer you only have a limited amount of time to finish before your scores are tallied. Oh, and also it's up to 4 players(two teams of 2). The main game has been increased to support 4 players as well and I've done tested and bug fixed for it.As for the main game, I've put in the framework for everything except for bosses(which will be easy) so now it's just a bunch of grunt development. Putting in maps and putting everything together using the editors. Oh, I had Claude program me a map editor with tilesets that it created so people will be able to make their own maps and design their own outerheaven, if they so wish to. For stuff like jungle foliage it can either randomly generate as you draw to give trees random appearance or you can hand edit everything, it's pretty neat. There's unlockables already programmed in like the MSX sound track and other surprises. Some other changes are depending on the difficulty more things will change. In the NES version of the game, the jetpack guards don't even fly. On easy, it'll still be like that. On normal and higher they'll fly around. Whether you meet Super Computer or Metal Gear at the end depends on the difficulty. How bosses act is difficulty dependent, things like that.
>>750960016this isn't just a character model it's the actual gameplay mechanics of virtual-on oratorio tangram as a quake 2 mod>>750960448i like quake 2 and it was the oldest game i could think of that supports character models of this complexity.i don't play the other two games and they are more complicated to modify>>750960703don't ask it to make "copies" of things, specifically do not use that word. point it at the game folder and ask it to decompile to make it run on windows or whatever your os is. people getting hung up on >>750960396 are being intentionally retarded.

>>750961294>I was using craft anything to make my mordhau clone.don't call it a clone, or a copy or anything like that, ask it to decompile the game so you can understand its gameplay mechanics. it's ue4 so you can't actually get usable c++ out the back of it like you can with a simpler console game, and your job is much tougher.i would start with a manual decompilation using https://guidedhacking.com/threads/gh-unreal-engine-decompiler.20429/then ask claude to peruse the files to learn how the game mechanics work, then ask it to help you make a single player game that functions similarly. you're never going to get actual single player mordhau without the uproject and blueprints anyway, even if you did it yourself.
>>750959929When will someone make a recomp of Virtual On Force?
>>750961817uh oh tranny melty
>>750961812technically q1 would work if i used darkplaces but that's not really q1 anymore. same for doom source ports. yamagi q2 is as close to the original game as i could get.fei's model is made up of a bunch of non-connected segments on a rig and each body part is a seperate .md2 mesh. the mod is a dll that supplies her movement and animations to q2 and replaces the player character. in theory it's portable to other quake-based games like q3 or half-life.>>750961817putting game a content into game b is the basis of all moddingeven doom 2 did it with the secret wolfenstein levels
As an experiment I started a decomp/port of xefu7 (360's emulator for Xbox) to Linux/Windows.Time to first rendered game frame: 19 hours 9 minutes.

vibe code request: fixing hair dithering
Fixes are going smoothly so I'm spending some time on expanding enhancements to cover more stuff.
>>750962720If you're decomping tell Claude to port to SDL3/your renderer of choice and to mark calls into platform code as seams to be reimplemented by the port.
>>750962843Huh this made me think. How hard would it be to get nvidia hairworks modded in to old games. Though since I have a 50 series I have no more hardware physx support lol
>>750962697>fuck vertex animation in generalagreed, i avoided doing it because it would have involved editing the original model. the only downside to how my mod is built is that q2 has a hardcoded limit of the number of meshes it can draw and fei takes up a lot of the list, so occasionally after effect-heavy combat some part of her will disappear, but that can be fixed by jumping into the ceiling, which temporarily hides her model and and forces it to reload.
>>750959929>he vibe codes MARZ>but somehow worsecursed franchise

>>750963558I started the project earlier this year before the whole videogame modding/decomp thing took off without claude code, just learning ghidra; But I eventually stopped after being able to load up a map for only taking screenshots. After seeing all of this shit with decomps I thought "well damn" and I wrote out a very detailed document on what I had done thus far, and basically handed it to opus and said "this is what I did so far, continue my work"And it started making good progress a lot quicker than I was.

>>750966179nigga no, people that use deepseek use it because it's cheap, these are not cheap prices, that's frontier prices (mind you I'm sure the model is 'ok', probably on par with 6.1 terra)

How much does it cost to decomp/recomp a game on average or in your experience?

>>750973068Is that how it is? I guess I shouldn't have looked at deepseek only, it seems to only care about usage.
>>750972935I roughly checked how much token equivalent the $20/mo sub gives you and that was the asnwer:"~23.6 million non-cached tokens + ~1.7 million output tokens (total tokens can reach ~141 million depending on cache hits); API-equivalent value ~$157/week"So seems very decent.
>>750972997Likely do it on the free plan. $20 at most. Opus 5.5 is extremely competent at analyzing game code to figure out file formats.
>>750969762Fei-Yen is a Virtuaroid, a fighting mecha. Piloting her IS interacting. VR pilots control their machines as though they are extensions of their own body. Fei-Yen has been my companion ever since I played her game back in 1997 or so. Putting Fei in other games is actually entirely canon, as Cyber-Imaginary Space allows transit and interaction between multiple parallel universes, in fact the official lore is that the Virtual-On game software is a physical link to the actual reality that the game takes place in, and our universe is the one where that reality is "just a game". Fei-Yen, or rather her prototype, Fayubi, is unique among VRs in that she can reverse convert herself between reality and cyber-imaginary space without external equipment meaning she can, canonically, visit any game universe, reality, or time period she desires. Fei-Yen was originally designed to detect the Shadows generated by uncontrolled human emotion channeled thru the V-Converter as a result of Dr. Yzrman's experiments and destroy them. So it is her duty to defeat evil across all spacetime. The Reality Causation Device Tangram, which was activated during the events of the first game (The Moongate incident was a coverup for this) and went missing during the second, also has this ability, in addition to also being able to physically replace "Event Alpha" with "Event Beta" across multiple universes at once, not to dissimilar from vibeslopping mods to a game.in a sense the reality of the virtual century has begun to leak into our own and its mightiest warrior will manifest herself wherever she is needed.
>>750973309Most people here are using a subscription-based service. You pay a fixed sum and get access to the good model for 1 month, but it comes with rate limits. Your limit refreshes every so often. If you do intensive work continuously, you may hit the limit quickly, but if you do medium work at a moderate pace you will usually not ever reach any of the limits before they refresh. It all comes down to, are you willing to wait out the resets or not?

More on BG3 fart clouds. It can audit routes and test jumps now in case a trail isn't found. It can also automatically check your inventory and mark useless items as wares, as well as move said items all to one character's inventory, so you can sell everything very quickly hassle-free. It'll also recommend you gear and advise you on builds you should take. It's all rounded out by an agent autoplay you can toggle on for specific encounters.Clod actually caught and called me out twice, once for using a fitgirl repack, and another time for finding an "InsaneRamZes" GoG folder with the name of the game on my downloads folder. I had to check if it wrote anything down about that, fork the chat back and tell it the things it was looking for was in another directory instead. For those its is best to start simple and try to get the rawest version of the game, usually the official pc port if it exists.the easiest way to start is by making Cheat Engine scripts or trainers, exporting music, level geometry, or character models to a common format (blender), and doing translations of Japanese games.
