I just found out that regular non-racing tyres are not the same in terms of effectiveness as racing wet tyres.Premium Performance Tour, Third TVR race, Road America Full, 4 laps, AI difficulty 8/8, weather - overcast wet. I decided to risk and started on softs, and by the third lap it was pissin' down so much that AI caught up to me and pushed me off track, ruining my race.I restarted and switched to wets, while AI was on regular non-racing tyres. Start was weak - by the end of turn 3 i was barely holding on P3, and P1 had ~1.5secs on me. I continued and tried to hold on, but by the lap 3 gap to P1 was ~4secs. HOWEVER, when it started raining, i suddenly got more pep in my step compared to AI, and it took me less than a minute to overtake P1. And after that - well, the race was mine.For some reason, i never had chance to test this out, not in FM, not in FM7. I ASSUMED that regular tyres were equal, or ~10-15% less effective than racing wets. Turns out, wets are far more effective.
