I bless this thread with the best boyhttps://twitter.com/KidamenaQ/status/1776795066033393798/photo/1
>>476284029Its Prototypin timehttps://youtu.be/cJuAhRJ7vfg?si=aHAS056ra8Kwq4q4https://youtu.be/Y1mzk6xubik?si=wbI2Sql3HP76dn1Fhttps://youtu.be/xLxZ-BnO01k?si=cPxNrTaWh2DNUk1ehttps://youtu.be/yo3w42X9Idk?si=FgaXpRLQdOsQ23af
The Prototype will probably be similar to the final form of the monster from the 90's movie Virus; given what Catnap's shine looks like.
>>476294907Why'd they make her so breedable?
HOPPY !!!
Uh oh Poppy Playtime, looks like their's a new dog in the yard
>>476327072Eh, we've got our own little place in the MasHor ecosystem, so I'm not too worried.Besides, I don't see many people from here flocking to this one since half the posters here are Critterfags off of /cm/, and there's no cute boys for them to fawn over in there.
I always thought that Catnap was the only willful servant of the Prototype whereas the rest are somewhat forced to obey him.
Guidebook next week
>>476332403We'll see it this thread, if the last one was anything to go by it's gonna be monumental in how much stuff it changes.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EtvdGgD1G8Uhttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/zjeEJQF239oHe voices all of them himself, thats crazy.
>>476332582Well, now we know that Thomas Clarke wasn't the only one to be stuck in a shitty BB.I don't think I'll ever sign up for turning into a toy if I'd end up losing my senses to an nth degree or even my sapience.
>>476333469Goddamn really? I genuinely thought there were other VA's, and he can sing really well while doing the dumb voices too. I already liked Gem's animations writing better than Inubis' but damn this is impressive, I gotta respect it.
>I won't do the towers I'm not insane>Does a tower as his next one
>>476339847That looks pretty nice, What game?
>>476341423The Sims 4I also made Bubba's house last thread
>>476339847I guess the call of the cat was too strong. Also where is this? San Myshuno or someplace?Do we even have a name for the village that the Critters live in? I was thinking of "Critter Creek" but the concept art didn't show anything much of a small river. I also had the idea of "Crittsylvania" in mind but I'm not sure how people would feel about that.
>>476284029>Who/what is he exactly?I like the theory that he's the mish mash of Rich and Ludwig put into a single monster
https://twitter.com/notglue9m/status/1786797062102622683Oof
Is the Prototype's ultimate goal to leave the factory to wreck havoc upon the outside world? Would the military dispatch him?
>>476284029The critters are cute but can someone please post them without the FNAF eyes? Not that shitty edit.
>>476369575he's likely very intelligent, he'd know that humans have weapons that can be dangerous to him so i doubt he'd like just randomly start massacring everyone
>>476284029this is the face i do when someone do something i dont like
>>476369575Probably not, or else he would've tried escaping already, wouldn't that be the first thing they do after everyone died? It's either a big Jonestown thing about to happen or he is still looking for a way to bring the toys peace.
>>476375696But what if the reason why he didn't escape yet is because he want to make sure to have made every toy in the factory a part of him so he become strong enough before leaving?
>>476370897the fnaf eyes are the best part though
>>476376482Maybe I'm a bit uncreative but I fail to see how the corpses of dead toys would help increase his power level.
>>476378823Because it would make him bigger? I don't know what you're not understanding, some toys are fucking huge and would be a boon for him to make a part of himself.
>Integrates all the toys>Now he has to listen to them at the back of his mind 24/7>Constant shitflinging as The Critters and Delights all hate CatNap and Mommy is nagging him over every little mistakeNo wonder he's crazy
>>476369575>Would the military dispatch him?Depends, he's very smart and wouldn't go head-on to confront the military, he'd likely use guerrilla warfare tactics
>>476327072Most mascot horror games barring Bendy and Poppy are generally low quality, so I'm not holding out hope for this one.
>>476377823It's the second unrealistic thing besides evil living toys.
https://twitter.com/Sonohenno_12/status/1771541892867481897
>>476336326It's strange how CatNap and DogDay were both successful BBs, but Bobby got an absolute nightmare for a body.
>>476361492I wonder what Hoppy and Kickin were expecting to happen with this.
>>476285746Miss Delight asks herself the deep, psychological questions in life.
>>476401945
>>476402273Fatty boom batty
>>476397568We don't know the order or if there were any before Bobby, but her number was 1186, while CatNap is 1188. There was some poor bastard between them where they were still trying to figure out either standing or speech. CatNap still seems to hate talking, only enough to get the message out, so DogDay was probably the last Critter they made. But they had no excuse with the standing thing, Huggy is Experiment 1070 and he doesn't even have bonesWe could also speculate that's why she was so desperate for someone, she was totally helpless that when anyone came by she didn't want them to leave.
>>476402273Delight... lay off the corpses...
Is there any 'in game universe' reason why Playtime Co. kept the Prototype around when they already had the BBI project going? The BBIs of Dogday, Kissy, Huggy, and Mommy Longlegs seemed like the final results of the project.
>>476402273>I don't have a big BUTT like my worthy adversary, Philip BanksWell, she does now.
>>476410335It was obscenely smart, smarter than any of the other creations they made
>>476410335>Dogday, Kissy, Huggy, and Mommy Longlegs seemed like the final results of the projectFrom what I can assume they weren't, Sawyer was using the toy thing as a cover to make the perfect slaves Though I'd prefer if he just doesn't have the aspiration to rule the world and instead is just a crazy toy salesman
>>476339847Sleepover at Catnaps
There really isn't a villian in this story, at least not in game. Everyone needs to just get together and talk out their grievences.
>>476420884Nah, The Prototype is 100% the villian at this point. It doesnt matter what kind of sob story he has, he has done too much damage.
>>476427924HE MADE ME KILL MOMMY AND MISS DELIGHTI COULD'VE FIXED THEM DAMMIT
>>476420884The Prototype is literally evil.
>>476427924>>476450761If it weren't for the Prototype the atrocious experiments that the factory was making would have kept going
The Huggies were blackBunzo was asianBubba was indianThe others were white
>>476420884>Everyone needs to just get together and talk out their grievences. You say that, but after htelikes of people talking on their grievances on places from /v/ and /pol/ to Reddit and Twitter I'm pretty sure that alone isn't going to be enough to solve their problems.
This is how some of you all think and its DISGUSTING.
>>476467106They're all so cute and then Bubba just strolls up and towers over them
>>476467106Pretty much.Did you not see the post last thread that passed around the idea that the Critters lived in a "free love commune"?
>>476467106And I will NOT apologize for it.
>>476467106What can we say? Its cute art Anon
>>476402273Your Daily Delight
>>476463248Kickin is Asian>Cananga odorata, known as ylang-ylang or cananga tree, is a tropical tree that is native to the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Queensland, Australia. It is also native to parts of Thailand and Vietnam
ill try to create something like the prototype if i get enough of a budget irlwish me luck everyone
>>476490748>Wasting said budget on making the prototype instead of the CrittersCringe
>>476491214baby steps, anonfirst the prototype, then huggy, THEN the critters
>>476491960I still don't get how they managed to create Huggy but totally failed with Bobby. Huggy has a very limited skeletal structure, getting him to walk must've taken so much work.
>>476467106Yes, and I'm not apologizing.
>>476493356They made Bobby wrong. As a joke.
>>476490748Anon no
>>476420884>>476427924All the toys, even and especially the Prototype, are victims. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop them from being murderous and unstable. The more we learn about everything the less good it feels to have to fight them, but it's kill or be killed by this point....Sort of. Huggy and Mommy wanted to kill us and weren't going to let us leave, but Catnap seemed like he wanted us to just go away. And now we're intentionally going down further into the factory, literally looking for a fight. The morality of this game is surprisingly complicated.>>476493356It seems like the Critters were meant to have human-equivalent intelligence, presumably so they could perform more complicated tasks, as opposed to Huggy, who was basically a guard dog and was only "intelligent enough". Unsurprisingly, brains are complicated, and while Bobby's mind apparently made the transition intact it couldn't connect right to her body.>>476495864I mean, destructive testing is a thing, and given how sociopathic the scientists are...>Which one's the least popular? The bear? Try out some experimental stuff on her, it won't matter that much if she comes out wrong. It'll be good data either way, and we can just recycle her later on when we perfect the process.
>>476505862Did they really have a way to correctly transplant or modify the brains into the toys in a way that the intelligence would be what they desired? I think it's more random.
>>476489941He could just be an Aussie.
so which toys are the most evil and which are the least evil?
>>476518474In my personal opinionmost>prototype>mommy>delight>catnap>poppy>huggy>pj>bunzo>dogday>kissyleast
>>476518474The least evil would have to be the minis, right? They seem to go on instinct alone so they are more like animals.
>>476508272>Kickin' with an Aussie accentHis shitposting powers would be off the charts.
>>476518883Why's Poppy so low? I know she diverts the train and all, but Huggy, PJ and Bunzo try to eat you. Kissy almost does too, in fact, until Poppy calls her off.
>>476534278It's obvious that she profited in some way from the suffering of the other toys. Her living accommodations are miles ahead of what we see for the other toys, it's obvious she was treated differently. I speculate her entire quest is to get back on top of the pile, which is why her motives constantly change from saving people to escaping to killing Thew Prototype, she's just stringing us along so we can eliminate anyone who threatens her.
T-2 days until Orientation HandbookI can't find it but when reading the first couple pages they showed off they highlight a new character named Jimmy, some douche in marketing. Seems strange to just name drop a random guy high up the food chain with no other references anywhere else unless he's the player
>>476540681He's not new, he was in a Tape for Chapter 2, talking to an interviewer about the Marketing Strategy he uses
>>476533341>C'mon Bubba, you really mean to tell me you haven't held your mate's dick while he's pissing before? It's a game in of itself.

Okay, punks, give me your best Poppy Playtime GAME THEORY.
>>476668943Stella probably got turned into Kissy at some point. She was kinda kooky, but it seems that faded as she had to stand by as in the name of obtaining eternal life hundreds of children were sacrificed to become monsters. However at her peak she was too important to just kill off and/or another higher up had an actual friendship with her. So if she finally had enough, they turn her into a mostly harmless toy, but kept her memories so she could help if ever they needed her, as we see Kissy at first helps The Player without being told who we are. We're speculated to also be a higher up so she probably knew us when she was a person. It's also strange as to why Kissy is one of only 4 known toys to actively be opposed to The Prototype (others being Poppy, DogDay, and Ollie). Poppy has her own beef, DogDay was just afraid he would die anyway, and we don't know enough about Ollie, but he seems to still see himself as a human and thus wants out. Kissy is totally random in that she has no greater motive you can scrap from her characterization or backstory.

Catnap.
Finally Crafty.
I like this AU since there's actually character development. Dogday doesn't forgive Catnap outright and it's a series of videos leading up to that.
>>476679012It bugs me to see Kickin' still in his eggshell. It's like if someone still had their umbilical cord with them where their belly button would be, you know? That sort of feeling.

>>476775058The first thing I thought when I saw that video was its a mod lol. But I didn't see any comments talking about it.
>>476775058>>476775689I'm finding conflicting details, because there was the comic where Bunzo was killed, but I don't think that was ever in Chapter 2, just a screenshot to end the event where Bunzo has been mauled. But it does mean that Bunzo was unique somewhat, all the other toys only ever got a single BB, but Bunzo had at least 2 because they needed him in Musical Memory.
I remember someone writing something about Miss Delight. Did anything come out of that?
>>476766176Eh not really, Mommy might have the best mobility among the three big toys but that's as far as it'll get, when she chases us right before she get to the grinder she is not particularly fast, it's also worth noting that the ball in her body is a vital point for her and can be killed if it's targeted, which Huggy can certainly do with his strength and Catnap
>>476778073I've been preoccupied with a lot of other things like PA that I haven't done anything for that, just a general idea/plot. Further I'm taking a break to rest and catch my breath after a bunch of writing and rewriting episodes has left me just tired and creatively spent.

>>476631034>>476778073>>476804326I've got no room to judge, because I tend to gravitate towards robot/puppet girls myself, but man this fandom really latched on IMMEDIATELY to the first vaguely conventionally attractive female the games threw out there, huh?Is it the big grin? She's kind of plain in her undamaged form besides that, but I'll admit it's kind of charming. And I guess her shattered mode draws in some of the nightmare waifu enthusiasts.
>>476807168For me it's the doll exterior with joints and plastic meshed with the flesh interior. She looks dopey as fuck when her face is broken and it adds another level "cuteness" to her. After that her personality and backstory sold me, she's broken and crazy but that wasn't self inflicted, she could be taken in and cared for.
In the game, the BBI toys were formally kids (except for Miss Delight), so we're basically killing kids-turned-monsters.I had an idea that Playtime Adventures and SCF! take place in the crater of the collapsed cavern where Playcare was.Warning Autist post: Playtime Valley is created when the Playtime Co. factory and the Playcare collapse into the cavern due to a large explosion created by the protagonist of Poppy Playtime when he/she sets off the poppy gas/gel. (The gas is shown to be flammable. When you fight Catnap, the gas he expels ignites.)There are ruins around Playtime Valley of the factory around the main town, and Playcare---which is shaped like the petals of an open flower rising from the ground---is situated around Critter Corner.
>>476809915You're right that does sound autistic

>>476811598Still find it so ironic how smiling critters was apparently a huge corporate blunder for playco but in real life it's the only reason people view this game as more than just a soulless nft mascot horror cashgrab for kids.
>>476812304I kinda feel like there's some weird level of introspection here, that last note is basically saying "yeah we marketed this to the wrong audience".
>>476807168NEVER. Underestimate the appeal of doll girls. Those joints go miles for weirdos like me.For me personally, I like both the psycho and normal models, and her gimmick makes me think of all the mind games an abnormal player would do just to mess with her, even if his life is on the line.Torn clothes on girls is also a fetish of mine, so that helps. She also has the common courtesy to at least warn the player to leave before she goes on the offensive.
>>476812542Happens more than you think. I know Yo-kai Watch during the international release ended up attracting more adult players than kid ones because of the whole Japanese aspect of the series.I wonder how often this kind of thing happens though.

Also, wouldn't it be more realistic to have some of the notes be in pen or marker instead of just taping a piece of paper on everything? Then again, it might just be me, and doing this probably does the better job of distinguishing the biologist's writings from that of Playtime Co.
I do not have to book btw, im just posting stuff I found on twitter.
>>476814247i know someone just said it but it's still so fucking funny to me how what happened to playco regarding the critters is basically the exact opposite of what happened to poppy playtime/mob entertainmentit's like poetry, it rhymes, or something.
Its a testament to their designs that all the character details listed for the Critters are exactly what I've thought they were like already.(I swear some of the stuff I wrote in the bibles is word for word in there lol)

>>476815047Thanks for the work, TwitterAnon.>>476815583Well to quote Playtime CMO Jimmy Roth:>If there is anything Playtime Co. should be known for, it’s not toys. It’s marketing. There's a truth to that. I think even outside the Critters, what you said also applies to most all of the toys as well: How they are presented and designed and coloured, each of them wears what they are on their sleeve and just shows you everything need to know about them. The toys are brands, and in some ways, a brand isn't too far off from a personality.

>>476821351Clearly, the priorities for the budget went elsewhere. If only we knew where that was.
So the book says that this was all Sawyer's idea, that he just out of the blue proposed the BBI to the shareholders and was given a thumbs up. So the question now is why? Why does he think any of this is a good idea and does he have ulterior motives?
So, does the book mean that by having remarks about the Internet (it didn't truly exist until the late 90's), 'in-universe' Playtime Co. didn't go out of business, and the game takes place in the first factory built and there are more factories still up and running?
>>476807168I thought she was alright at first but a bit later on her personality and tragic backstory really sold me on her. (I can fix her!!1)Doll joints and her derpy broken face are cute as well.
>>476766176>CatNap is either just fucking with us out of maliceIt's this. He's a cat. Ollie even tells us point-blank that Theo is toying with us for his own amusement and then he'll just kill the player at his leisure.

>>476814020>Kickin is a LITERAL tryhardWHEEZE
>>476821180Bobby and Bubba are just so sick of having to be the tardwranglers for this group.
After the leaks, I think it's safe to say that this won't impact any AUs. The in-universe cartoon was considered such a massive failure due to lacking actual development for the characters, CatNap being CatNap, and just having so much money wasted on it that Playco basically shelved it and any future plans for it that weren't new BBs (and we know how THOSE went for the ones that weren't DogDay or CatNap). Nobody save the biggest morons on Twitter are going to forcibly change their AU's to conform with this. And it's even less likely that we'll get people trying to push the canon BBs because that means you have Bobby essentially being a useless tormented sack of misery who can't interact with anyone or anything. It also helps that lots of AUs already have it so CstNap doesn't particularly like talking, though he can do it if he has to.
>>476815583That youtube animator Gemstin also got them 100% spot on.

>>476821759The angry gays have finally made up.
>>476831878>inb4 Gemstin was sekritly part of the MOB this whole time and he was testing grounds for more Critter Content>>476832034Don't get me wrong, I can see the charm for the most part. It's just that some parts of the dialogue don't feel 'natural' in some places, like there's dialogue that sounds fine in writing, grammatically correct, even, but it doesn't sound perfectly like how people would say things in real life. It's like how I felt with Claire Harper's monologue in Chapter 3; her acting is not bad, the part where she screamed NOOOOOO was impressive even, but there were just a few odd phrasings and other things that made it hard for me to believe the character was real in some parts. Then again, maybe it's just my autism and not really watching much shows from Current Year, so the manner of speaking in the shows have probably been changed compared to the stuff that I was once familiar with when I was younger.

>>476897368They were committed to The Critters and Red Gas. It seems pride was a massive contributer to why they failed, they could never let an idea or toy die and admit defeat, so they kept them around. CatNap especially was needed to continue distributing RG which became a dependency it seems as things went on.But also>The REJECTED stamp goes over the note left later
>>476905064It feels uber-cheap to reveal the identity of our main character in a book first. I can see you point, the date is the same, but that birthday is a reference to Markiplier's birthday, the name could be Player W. but that feels too obvious. Or it's a personal vanity project, something they started to obtain some disgusting luxury or status.

>>477007228I had to give it some thought. So her joints would be slightly stiff like a normal Barbie, so they don't just flop around but they can't even move to the extent that a human can. So firstly you need to consider that she would be stiff, kinda slow, and if she is uncooperative you can just pose her yourself and she's hold that pose. But then there is the matter within her which is her way of moving about, which further limits mobility. She can't twist her head 360 degrees for example. We can see both these points impact her in-game movement, with how she kinda hobbles around. So basically, you can fuck her but it would be very different, kinda stiff but you can do whatever you want if you top her.

>>477015875I also find it strange to announce development this early. Assuming they want a straight adaptation we still have 2 chapters to release.

Sawyer technically already achieved immortality, as the bodies of the BBI toys don't really age, they just need to eat, but otherwise it could be categorized as agelessness-type immortality. The Prototype technically has an even more advanced form of immortality as he doesn't even need to eat.
>>477031771What I don't get is how they have a prototype that doesn't need to eat, and then later versions of the toys are worse in the sense that they do.
>>477033160You could say the same about why the successive toys don't happen to be as intelligent as him, but to be honest I think it might be intentional, for example Huggy not being able to speak is likely because he's meant to just be the factory's security, his purpose wouldn't really involve needing to speak or whatnot.
>>477033160>>477036930The Prototype was an accident, and it really felt like until we reach DogDay each experiment is them still throwing darts blindly. They wanted each toy to be able to function properly and speak but due to different limitations and conditions they got mixed results.
>>477021760Thing is, the MCs background is really important to the story we still dont know, they are either going to spoil the shit out of future plot points the story is going to be something completely different to the games.
>>477038593Again we still have a long time before the film releases, Ch4 will be out before they even start filming I bet, and either Ch5 will be concluded by the first trailer or they'll time it cleverly and have them release side by side.

It feels telling that the first one they tried to get rid of ended up killing all the others.Or maybe that's not what actually happened? Delight says they were going to kill her, but I'm wondering if she's being an unreliable narrator in her notes. Maybe the reason she's the only survivor is because the others weren't violent at all, and she murdered them out of paranoia and her own hunger. Then again, Catnap apparently locked up all the Delights because he thought they'd be uncontrollable as a group and hurt what kids were left, and I think that's the only time we hear about the toys being dangerous to the children as well as the staff. So maybe Miss Delights were all just fucking nuts when they weren't kept under strict control.
>>477070406>What made this one different? Was it random chance she was singled out, or was it specifically because the others could tell she was dangerous? It feels telling that the first one they tried to get rid of ended up killing all the others. You bring up a good point. Some people pull out of their asses that she could be the person that caused the CatNap fiasco that started the downward spiral. I don't buy it but she could be someone important. We know the toys just know when someone was once an employee, so maybe her sisters knew something about her and felt she wasn't trustworthy?>Then again, Catnap apparently locked up all the Delights because he thought they'd be uncontrollable as a group and hurt what kids were left, and I think that's the only time we hear about the toys being dangerous to the children as well as the staff. So maybe Miss Delights were all just fucking nuts when they weren't kept under strict control. That's another new theory. Maybe being former employees had an extra effect on their psychs, more then just "They're untrustworthy". I might've made them genuinely more dangerous since they'd feel some betrayal at being turned into toys. Or, since they were workers, they were specially made to be strong. Miss Delight by herself can smash generators with nothing but pencils tied to a knot, she's basically as strong as the BBIs despite being so tiny. An army of those was dangerous to keep around.

Now it's just endless shitposting, stealing from better games, and utterly incoherent nonsense. The nicest thing I can say about Banban at this point is that the Rockit Gaming songs are way too good for it and that it acted as a wake-up call to the entire mascot horror community to get their shit together.
>>477161920Banban started as a way to take the piss on poppy and their fans, then a bunch of people started to like it unironically, like how feet was a meme like 5 years ago and now we live in the worst timeline
>>477166220It's funny how they've tried to do a 180 while claiming it was a joke all along but you know that's not true. The fact that they pad the game out to ensure they hit that 2 hour mark to prevent refunds is also incredibly telling.

>>477167895>>477168963BanBan I think was an important game when it comes to Poppy Playtime. It's very obvious it had a massive effect on their psychology, after it became popular they stopped making Minecraft animations and focused almost solely on making Poppy 10x scarier and higher quality to avoid being lumped in as a "mascot horror game" right next to BanBan.
>>477170072Man, I just wanted them to be happy...>>477181736It also clearly affected most other mascot horror games, given that the majority of the newly announced ones actually come across like they have the bare minimum of effort placed into them now.

>>477181736Absolutely. BanBan being so shit and low quality has actively made Mob and others up their game That being said BanBan still got toys made and has merch in stores now. That and Rainbow Friends being popular enough for a toyline will forever just blow my mind. I don't get it.
>>477202719Source on that pic?
>>477202097>Theo actively confused by a DogDay who DOESN'T constantly snarl and glower at people or look like he's ready to punch you in the face
>>477181736I got to agree. What's funny is that people thought Chapter 1 was as low as you can get, and the sheer amount of merch and a movie deal before Chapter 2 came out didn't help. But the Poppy devs stepped their game up a bit with the second chapter and after like 5 Banban chapters were sharted out onto Steam (and by proxy, Youtube), the Poppy devs saw the writing on the wall and tried veering harder towards horror because they'll look better in comparison.
>>477208062It's funny to think that Banban saved Poppy at the very least, and not because it was good.
The Orientation Handbook changing some minor stuff made me realize I'll miss some AUs and other stuff people make with our current assumptions. I'm gonna really miss the yellow stick figure Player once we have an identity and can give him a human face.

Which toy had the highest kill count in your opinion? Personally I think Boxy did.
>>477280727Probably CatNap, he is seen hunting the other toys after the initial Hour, and we know he killed at least 8 upon creation
Has there been any indication that the factory was raided by the military or something? I don't get how in a single day hundreds of people could disappear, including a bunch of kids, and it wouldn't lead to an investigation that ultimately uncovers what happened at Playtime Co. Even if they don't find any bodies, there'd still be a major investigation as to why this massive factory is totally derelict.
>>477283834My theory is that the Prototype using his cunning managed to cover up the incident from public awareness somehow
>>477284570A shit ton of "And the last time I saw my husband/wife was them heading off to work at the factory" isn't something that's easily covered up. Cops aren't going to get there, see it's empty, and say "Welp, no one's here. Guess we're shit out of luck." with the amount of missing people at hand. Like even if there's no bodies and the toys don't reveal themselves, there's going to be the lingering question that people were there, and now they're not, so where are they now. And the only way to figure that out is to investigate the factory further for clues and insight.I think even if the player character didn't work at the factory, he would have had to know about all of this. Hundreds of people disappearing one day and then it turns out this toy company was doing experiments on kids is international news.
>>477285051Nobody would believe that it was the toys themselves that killed people, they would assume they were assassinated during a terrorist attack or something
>>477285051There aren't a lot of leads right now unless the book has something. Looking at their track record when handling things like the CatNap scandle the writers it seems have a realistic understanding of how people behave in things like this.

>>477291353She really is a very good monster design. I think maybe the best in the series, even. Very creative, very unique, and actually kind of unsettling when in motion. The scene at the very end of her level just outside the crusher room, where she suddenly shows up at the other end of a long hallway and starts spider-running at you on all fours while the door slooowly opens does an amazing job of ratcheting up tension.I like the freaky groaning-roar she does during the final chase, too. The pitch constantly shifting up and down really drives home that this thing isn't human anymore; this isn't a noise a person makes. It's just animal aggression, no matter how much she tried to play at pseudo-civility earlier.

>>477336818Yes. For a game that tries to be realistic as possible, evil possessed eyes on children toys is not it.
>>477336056Also if any of this gets out, everyone with skin in the game is turbo fucked. Filing for bankruptcy and abandoning ship in a golden parachute is a lot better than potentially spending the rest of your life in prison and having to be separated from genpop.
>>477336056I hope they have it where Sawyer is either turbo short sighted or just some degenerate, these AA horror games always fall short of making the bad guy actually bad. Afton technically had a good reason to start his stupid shit as he was saving his kid or something, Joey Drew apparently did right in the end and never actually tortured anyone, I want a guy who is just an evil fuck, because evil fucks exist in the real world, not every person has a rocky road that got them where they were.
>>477328923We don't know if he was, but I wouldn't bet against it. The mini-Huggies probably only had strings due to being feral and uncontrollable otherwise. Bunzo can be safely lowered to smash kids heads apart if they fail with zero issue of him getting out.
>>477320332That bit about "discouraging" the older orphans from growing out of Playtime products reads like a fucking cult manifesto.
>>477321287>literally had an entire facility for destroying faulty toys (probably failed BBs)>used ACTUAL LAVA for it>employees unironically thought it would be good to use children to toss away toys into the l a VA instead as free laborThis company is a goddamn neverending nightmare. At this rate, I'm expecting actual rape lounges or some shit in here.
>>477328032They wanted a powerful enforcer and were using whatever kid was made into Boxy as their very first test subject for the BBI. More than that, they generally use Boxy as a way to dispose of employees or people who learn too much so it helps he has weapons for immediate lethality.
>>477338609Joey Drew absolutely got people killed. And whilst Afton might have started out as a family man (maybe - we know he didn't give a shit about Michael bullying CC and only really cared about Elizabeth, and even then, he still built the Funtimes with built-in child murder chambers), he has utterly lost any remotely sympathetic motivstor by the time of the games. As for Sawyer, I literally can't picture the man as anything other than purely evil or totally amoral. He's clearly obsessed with pushing the boundaries of science far past what they were ever meant for regardless of the harm it causes to others in the process, and shamelessly experimented on children. No amount of backstory or motivation could make the man anything less than a monster.
>>477314381>our most ambitious line yet!Classic Smiling Critters W.

He's just a man who I see as given into his own sick, twisted desires. It's the one thing I feel that makes him just as human as he is inhuman. >>477343609It's not even funny to shitpost about Garten of Banban being good. It's just entirely fucking awful. >>477339768Wonder if they hoped to groom these kids into becoming employees. They'd still be housed and fed but wouldn't need to be paid or anything.
>>477345445Maybe? Reminds me that Disneyworld is now creating housing within the park for the superfans, so maybe you're onto something. Maybe the absolute gold standard of the program, which is why they don't want kids that aren't even gonna get experimented on to get adopted, why they made the school just teach company history and morals, and why they probably shamed kids that showed interest in other brands. All to create the autistically fanatical workers who would do everything literally for free as long as they got exist in the Playcare wonderland. An entire population, raised within The Dome, eating their Picky Piggy snack bars, and wearing only the Huggy Wuggy shirts. The perfect consumer base.
>>477345445>>477346316God, everything about Playtime just makes them existentially terrifying at a level few evil organizations in horror games come close to. Higher up the food chain most of the scientists were either stupidly naive as to what they were doing or knew and didn't care. As for the Big 5 they're all guilty barring Eddie and The Head of Production who we've seen nowhere yet. Stella is still crazy, Leith is a controlling psychopath, and Sawyer is Sawyer.Thought the lack of in-depth details about 3 make me think this book was worked on independently so they might've altered Stella's character.

>>477378287It's been mentioned before that even without the Hour of Joy, the company was inevitably going to fall apart. If everyone is one typo on a report from being sent packing and encouraged to snitch on their co-workers trying to overcome long hours, yeah, it's fucked. What I find interesting is that we see that Make-A-Toy thing that's able to fully automate the assembly, quality control, and painting of a catbee in chapter 1. So when the company was running out of money and needed to downsize, why didn't they try and develop more and better automated systems? The assembly was a bit slow but it couldn't have been any slower than having Huggy Wuggy do it, and that's a matter strictly of technology, which the company is well ahead of our own technological curve in as opposed to the murky world of biology where one of the rarest words used is 'always'.

>>477405436Man, /5N@F/ may as well be a shallow husk of itself that's more like /sthg/ than anything else. It just turned into blatantly hating the games and nothing else.
>>477405817Because just being mascot horror isn't a good unifier for people to come together and talk about the games. And there are only a couple games that fall under the banner and are good. Fnaf and Poppy already have generals, and Bendy, Amanda the Adventurer, and BanBan all have communuties too small. Roblox might get a general eventually so those games will get covered, and the rest is shovelware.
>>477407090It's a shame, cause Shipwrecked 64 is a good one. So if a mascot horror general ever gets going, I would like to talk about in there.
>>477361272Wasn't it that other scientist that was convinced he was going to be immortal? The one that was still recording during the hour of joy?
>>477378287Leith seems like a rich guy that does not give a fuck and views everyone else as poor peeons to be used or dropped when it suits him. Stella is fucking insane and is totally cool with kids being horrifically ruined so she can eventually be turned into an eternal child herself some day. Eddie seemed way more interested in the laboratory stuff and was willing to pay millions to have more of it, and have it all hush hush. I don't think he cared about human life either.Sawyer is a totally immoral asshole that does not care about people at all, only his research and sees people as just test subjects and more steps to making new discoveries. He does not give a shit when any of his own people are killed by the experiments.
>>477396726>>477412094The company was also probably doing really bad financially when all the upper staff focused on monster making experiments instead of making and selling the products that actually make them money. Company resources went to making monsters, making buildings to hold and imprison them, hiring people to study them and security to protect against them. None of this shit turns a profit. Having a few dozen Huggies stack boxes in the warehouse does not make up for the loss of income.
>>477412094>Stella is fucking insane and is totally cool with kids being horrifically ruined so she can eventually be turned into an eternal child herself some day.Wasn't she sad about it though?
>>477414145That's the one thing that the book actually confuses us on. We hear in the Ch3 tape that she has started to become disillusioned with her position, but our biologist friend writing notes into the book says she is still the same crazy bitch she was in Ch1. He's writing from some point right before the HoJ so there's a conflict in the timeline if Stella was getting disillusioned well before the Hour. There is the possibility that Stella will still hold onto her dreams and weird aspirations even as she sees the kids getting tortured, it's just the process makes her sad but she sees it as a necessary evil to get to paradise.
>>477327425>>477327753
In chapter 3 I think there was also an attempt at paying employees at in-house produced funny money. Basically what company towns did back in the early 1900s as a means of entrapment. If their attempts at grooming orphans into mindless employees worked, they probably would have started paying them in that.

>>477588058Our short king. I kneel.
Huggy is important to The Player for some reason. In both the nightmare sequences, Huggy has a prominent role. Obviously there is Nightmare Huggy, but normal Huggy appears at the end of the second nightmare, just him in a blank void. And we end that nightmare in his room before getting grabbed by The Prototype.
Why do the Smiling Critters have possessed eyes? Like I know this is a horror game, but when they made Mommy Long Legs they specifically went for designs that actually looked like toys rather than focusing on the scare factor. They could have given them normal eyes and then given the evil toy versions the creepy eyes.
>>477462871I think the original plan for her demise was going to be burning her, but it was changed midway through production. The posters are still in the game because... well, they already made them, might as well use them to keep people guessing, I suppose. I imagine it was something like->We'll kill her by luring her into the furnace and burning her alive, that'll be suitably horrific.>Wait, we want to showcase the Prototype dragging her off, we can't do that if she's a pile of melted rubber locked in an oven.>I guess we can grind her up instead? >>477641409There's two good ways to do this>A direct adaptation as a trilogy, including flashbacks and such to tell important story details>A prequel showing how the monsters were made and how everything fell apartI prefer the latter since I'd like the film to cover new ground. And by focusing on the science more it could explore more questions about this kind of technology.
>>477647357Kids are not gonna like the latter kinda film though. They need to market this to their target audience.
>>477642293I guess they needed a good reason for all the torturing.
>>477650543If it's a horror film then they are at minimum marketing to teens regardless, who could enjoy that kind of film. I could see it being like Jurassic Park. A big problem I think the Fnaf movie had was it couldn't stand on its own legs, it needed you to already know Fnaf and the lore to enjoy it and it didn't really add much to it. This makes the film in the long run not remarkable or worth going back to. But a film that also tries something interesting, has it's own story and identity, and which can inspire some discussion about it, that would stick around for a bit especially if done for Poppy.
>>477629610Shadman is still around?

>>477575854I hope they won't go the "story retold" route. Games heavily reliant on puzzle solving won't really translate well as a movie. Instead I hope it'll be about the events leading to the Hour of Joy. Probably similar to RoTS with order 66.
I imagined it would be more of a typical monster movie but with Huggie.Typical scenario of teens or couple sneaking into an old abandoned factory, and there happens to be a large blue monster hanging around that chases them until they escape at the end.
>>477647357The 2nd option is interesting, but there's no way they're going to go full on scifi horror. The implications of a lot of PP lore is genuinely horrific, but you can't market that kinda movie to kids and families lol.
