In Episode Shadow and at the end of the main story he's not exactly the menacing villain he tries to be which makes sense with the full context of who he is. But people hyped him up as a strong character and then couldn't accept the story for what it was trying to do. I think it would be cool if they bring him back as a secondary villain that is independent from Eggman.

The reality is Sega doesn't care given they had no intention of ever reprinting the old Archie content. The only party who is losing money is Archie.Sega still licenses out SatAM, AoSth, and Underground. Not having a shitty tie-in comic that turned into furry porn isn't worth caring about.
