I have a NVME and they take about 30 secs, but that is with almost 500 factions. It is slowly going up a sec or so and I am down to 320 or so factions on turn 39 takes about 40 secs.

I'm jumping into some Dwarf warfare, here is the plan:

>most fun turtle race, basic bread and butter setup:
>melee dwarfs in front to hold the line
>shooty dwarfs in the back to tear apart the enemy
>arty to blast the enemy from afar, so they have to come to me

What I usually struggle with is keeping the enemy away from my ranged units. I think I just need a better ratio between melee holders and ranged shooters. Lord and heroes also help keep advancing units at bay. So instead of 4 shields 12 guns, it's better to go 6 shields 6 guns.

Then there are the formations to keep in mind. We got the grid and the chevron. Either way it's important to keep the shooter sight lines free so they can dish out the damage. Managing your melee units so they are positioned correctly takes some practice.

Anything I am missing here, or can we agree this is a solid plan for some proper dwarfing?

In Warhammer trolls are similar to LOTR trolls in a sense that both are giant and dumb.

In Warcraft trolls are elves of of the horde in a sense that both are agile, masters at ranged and great with magic

You are very vulnerable to unfavourable terrain. Your riflemen are quite strong when upgraded by all skills/technology, Mourngul Hunters are super strong, Rotting Promethians (with gunners) are your main line holders but all your t5 monsters are good

In WH2 with Luthor I would just built like 6 or 7 mortars, get Queen Bess asap, a Gunnery Wight hero for ammo, a vampire lore caster for heals a few, maybe a melee and the rest just meat shields to hold the line with a few basic gunnery mobs for flanking, the plan was to always rush for Necrofex doomstack and ignore all the other units except maybe Rotting Leviathan but apparently gun units suck in WH3 now so idk. Skaven were easy to deal with but Gor-Rok was a massive pain.

Anon, the whole point of a slayer is their suicidalness runs into dwarf stubbornness so they try to kill themselves by running at the nearest monster and trying to kill it and if that doesn't work they run at successively bigger monsters until it does. A slayer that wears armour is a slayer that doesn't want to kill himself and so not really a slayer and would be looked at with disgust if not religious anger by other dwarfs.
Ungrim only gets a pass because his vows of being a king and being a slayer contradict each other. This would not apply to his bodyguards.
TL;DR - Radious is dumb.
