And of course fromsoft nerfs the fight into the ground so hard they may as well just have removed it.And what sort of difficulty do we get in the DLC? a bunch of literal trial and error attacks where you are required to use a shield to not get hit the first time. - Lion dancer boss who is 400% bigger than he should have been and fucks up the camera while wiggling around hitting you with his body doing. - Messmer who does AoE attacks and you need to know to run under him to not get hit by his takes up half the area with a 2.5k damage aoe. - Enemies that raise their sword and then teleport to you and hit in 0.3 ms- enemies that have attacks that true combo into each other and are impossible to i-frame so you need to get away- those knights that body slam you from 25 yards awayI dont mind bosses that are fast and require good reflexes but attacks that are basically guaranteed to hit you unless you know exactly how to dodge them beforehand are shit. they have always been shit in these games. Elden ring is the first soulslike that has these attacks every other boss, or regular enemy.

I was watching Preston Jacobs, he brought up that grrm likes writing in hiveminds or fused consciousness, I read some of the thousand worlds stories he recommended and found examples of these. Then I looked at elden ring, specifically hyetta, shabriri, and the player at the end of the lord of frenzy ending then took into account the frenzy flame wanting to burn everything into one. Could it be possible that hyetta isn't necessarily shabriri but is instead the frenzy flame entity who'd long since absorbed both her and shabriri's consciousness and uses both to manipulate the player? Could the player be subsumed by the fused consciousness of the frenzy flame during its respective ending as well?

I think I know who messmer and melina's father is. I don't think it's a giant, radagon, a snake, or godfrey. I don't think they have a father. I think these two were specifically aspects of marika made manifest, much like millicent and her sisters are. I also think that's how malenia got her ability to create fragments of herself from. The most disappointing part of Abyssal Woods for me wasn't the enemies or how empty the field was. It was the southern part being completely unexplorable. Why are some of Romina's attacks so poorly telegraphed like her rolling attack, that one moves where she moves her front side a little and damages you and then instant AoE? I've noticed this when co-oping and she seems to have terrible tells.
