For those of us here who do both, do you guys find a significant difference in the way you interact with stories vs chats?I noticed that for chats, I have a handful of favorites I can revisit and get enjoyment out of, like starting a new playthrough in an open-ended game. They go different directions because I force a certain character for myself and it seems to make a huge difference. Like for my old favorite Brianne the Pitiful, there's a world of difference between a play through as an (equally) unlucky and clumsy adventurer, vs taking her under your wing as a powerful, but unscrupulous mercenaryMeanwhile, I don't revisit prompts the same way. If the story reaches a satisfying end, I don't find myself wanting to start it over with a new direction. Rather, I'll use it as inspiration to write a fresh prompt down the line. So a lot of my prompts have similar openings, but they're still fresh starts instead of alternate versions of a prior one

Then I would add a basic profile to them and continue on from there.

I have a few "divergence points" in the story and roll back when I want to revist it.I think of it more like drafts, and the stuff I like from different runs gets retconned into the lore/story/prompt itself.And then I have quite a few interlinked prompts or stuff in the same setting so different stories can affect my retcons too.I feel like I flesh the world out a lot more this way and give more nuance to characters both main and side.

Have LLMs affected the way you write?I made a habit of cutting down on adverb of manner usage after noticing how AI loves vomiting them out, which made me conscious of my own tendency in overusing them. I often find myself excising them out of sentences or reformulating them (i.e. I can't confidently say -> I can't say with confidence). Obviously I still use them, since it would be retarded not to, but to a lesser extent than before.
