a lot of people's issues would be fixed if they just put the first relic step in x.1, it doesn't even need to be hard have the new NPC that pushes Gerolt around tell you to "right I need you to gather shiny tokens of virtue for me, 10 should do" which requires running like 10 dungeons, or make it a 50% chance, or fuck make it a daily thing, then when the next relic step is out remove the limit or something, hell it probably can be something better designed than this but just having the option to start your relic now would do so much for people wanting a grind to work on

Of course she sandwiches that godawful cow shit you mentioned which is inexcusably bad, even if I understand what they were going for with the scenes, but I still liked it.To cap it off I also really like the idea of the Alexandrians struggling to come to terms with death and losing people. This is also one of the very few times Wuk has been directly rebuked (by the child she tried to console) which was satisfying from a player perspective. I'm not really sure if I like the idea of everything just turning into 'regulator mind control lmao,' I think maybe the Alexandrians forming a genuine and organic cult as some sort of way to cope with death would have been more interesting but I'll give the writers the benefit of the doubt that they know where to go with this storyline (even if they do not deserve this benefit).'Im Earth's Strongest DT Story Hater but there were still these moments I found myself invested. There is a LOT of interesting things they could choose to explore with DT's story that they have just chosen not to.

FRU is timegated. Its been complete since before the patch came out. If a developer ever tells you they're splitting a patch up for your own good, which Yoshida loves doing and retards eat it up, its on purpose in order to double dip on subscriptions. Hell, the patches in XIV in general are intentionally timegated into two segments despite the .5 content being ready to go. And if its not ready to go, don't release the halves just release in normal intervals.

I know I'm the outlier here but I really just want the overworld to be challenging. I just think it would be really cool to have to decide to fight through mobs or try to circumnavigate them using the aggro system that is somewhat complex for how little it actually matters.

In some older games, just going out in the world was dangerous unless you had a group or a guild to back you up. This kind of thing isn't really feasible anymore. MMO gamers on average are getting older and don't have time to form parties organically or deal with the shit we want to see make a comeback. Honestly this is why I'm looking forward to forays. They're not strictly open world since they're fairly instanced, but it's about as close as this game gets to what I want. Long as they don't fuck it up, I'll probably be happy. But knowing these devs, they will tie 0 incentives to it, so the people who need a reason to go in (most people tbf) won't, and it'll just be me in there alone.
