To the anon who posted last night about patrolling the edge of the map looking for a the ghost, thank you. I found either the same one or another one. I distinctly remember killing one of them and getting a shard but maybe I didn't kill it? This one showed up as "Big Ghost". Either way my colonists are no longer affected by that fucking debuff.

I have a corridor with some traps but the foxes run right over them and my single turret (from factory ruins) doesn't do shit. None of my pawns have armor yet and I still need to research it. They always seem to raid when my colony is fairly new (190 days for this one and they've raided twice) and not yet fully prepared. Last run I lost 7 colonists at once. This run I lost 4 at once leaving me with one colonist for a long time. I'm against cheating but there's no fucking way I can deal with the foxes, their battle rifles and their armor. I just used dev mode to down the raiders, heal all my colonists and make their faction an ally. I'm not losing another fucking colony to these cunts, at least not while I stand zero chance. I've never used devmode to cheat so this is the one and only time I'll make the exception to cheat, if it happen again in this colony or another tough shit but I've put a bunch into getting this colony build back up and I'm not fucking losing it again.

They raided once and I lost a bunch of colonists, so I had one colonist for the longest time. I'm also playing random start and the scenario it gave me was abandoned factory, starting with a single pawn and I have no idea what any of the other parameters were. It will get better. I have this for temp defenses, I had other traps but they were more detrimental that good. I finally have a researcher and people who can construct. I also had the Bitter obsession debuff for quite some time which also really hindered progress. most of this is my fault, I'm not denying that, but I'm working through it.

If you want better gene inheritance to work like that you need to configure the individual genes in the mod options, I think. A simpler solution would be to use a mod like dominant gene (1.4, might be working in 1.5) to just directly pass down all the dogs genes.

Not quite side-by-side but within the same (new) towns. It's obvious when you encounter it a couple times. Even though you'd see vary similar houses, because it's American suburbia, the rest of the game was never that blatantly lazy. stats barely matter since you can raise them, backstories affect them, and because skill decay exists. passions are more important and those are partly affected by the pawn and i think their backstory too. traits max at 3. this isn't rocket science. also having high stats in a skill without passion can be bad if the stat is capable of having an inspiration because they'll lower the chance of better inspirations

Colonist's bedrooms are all done, dining/rec area, kitchen and butcher shop groundwork is all done just need to build the furniture. As for the right-side area it's going to be half storeroom, half workshop but I need to figure out how I want to split it up. I'll figure out floors and the rest of the base after the basics are set up.

In my headcanon, Arch*tech is nerfed heavily from their original unfathomable self but they are still the most powerful known beings to the galaxy by far
This Arch*tech was already dying and it was on it's way to kill itself by going on a collision course with the sun. It has fought against another Arch*tech and lost but it managed to "transfer" itself onto a metal moon before it got destroyed and escaped because it did not want to be assimilated with the other Arch*tech in question.
After it had traveled for many years, Gerathian Empire, in a daring move, intercepted the moon when it entered Empire's region and launched it's massive Psy Disruptors to limit the Arch*techs powers. Normally, such primitive tech (which took a lot of resources to create) would only cause a minor issue for an Arch*tech but this one was battered from it's previous fight and far from it's peak power.
The Arch*tech, however, knew of Empire's intentions when they didn't attempt to destroy it from space. They wanted to land on the metal moon and gather whatever information they could about the Arch*tech.
The Arch*tech had several options how to deal with the situation but with it's limited power even it didn't know if it could beat the empire. After some thought, it decided that it'll test the empire. It will be serious in it's defenses and make empire's invasion a living hell for them but leave tiny clues as to where to find the Arch*tech's core.
It was a win-win situation for the Arch*tech. If the empire fails to find the Arch*tech before the metal moon gets destroyed by the sun, all the knowledge gets erased with it. If the empire proves to be worthy by killing it, they can have some of the knowledge it posseses and it will get another chance to get back on the Arch*tech that has defeated it.

The struggle of finding and troubleshooting a ton of mods and finding half of the shit doesn't work together or is the wrong resolution really took it out of me. All I wanted was to make some generic but relatively realistic soviet and american templates to give the exactly two civil and rough outlander factions for a new playthrough LARPing as a totalitarian shithole police state like Oceania. Makes me want to use my vector art skills to make a lightweight pack of weapons, clothing, and armor for this playthrough specifically but that'd take me a month at least. Not sure how to get these to spawn since editing pawnkinds seems like a chore and using total control isnt great.

There are a few possible explanation for this.
The pawns weren't originally white and blonde, and you manually changed them with CE, making them still have their tainted genes.
Or one (or both) of those pawns belongs to a faction that already has a set skin/hair color. Since those don't affect the genes that a pawn can spawn with you can have a completely white pawn have dark skin genes.
Make sure to check both of those.

Yes, but obviously the door needs to physically be open and not just marked to stay open so raiders can walk in. Putting a usually-open door at the entrance of the killbox is actually a good idea. You can just lock up for manhunters, and if you want to solve one problem with another then fully closing off your base will make two groups of enemies go after each other first.

I installed a few mods to allow me to use genetics to have normal human race xenotypes as broad category types of "European", "Asian", "African", "Arabian", "Amerindian", "Islander", and "Eskimo" just the other day. I suppose I could go more granular with Europeans and maybe split Mediterranean-Iberian and Finno-Russoids, and split Mongoloids and South East Asian from North-East Asian but this works out fine to at least solve the bulk of the issues you described and allow me to complete the Geneva to-do list quicker. As long as you don't care about other races being considered a xenotypes you can do this OR you can just load up a species with all the possible traits and skin tones a human would have and use that instead of baseliners. Personally I think it's more fun to play around with observed and hyperbolic stereotypes for each (Asians are 80-90% the height of other races, Africans are 110-120% the height and run faster, among others). Honestly taking any suggestions on how to improve my races either by name, new types/subtypes, or stereotype.

Between trying to give NPC factions realistic military loadouts and clothing, removing all spacer tech from my game, and adding real life human races and only humans I'm 90% of the way from turning RimWorld into simply World.

Both I think? I used a mod that lets me export individual xenotypes as (presumably) xml as loadable xenotypes with the intention of being able to use them with another mod but it doesn't always work how it should. I think other than vanilla genetics expanded all I have otherwise besides basegame biotech is a skin colour genetics mod. If you really want I could zip and upload them all to catbox, or otherwise just screencap the settings I'm using currently for each xenotypes? I'm mainly using mods to do it because I didn't want to have to unpack the genetics mods and do everything manually just yet... But I want to know your opinion on which one would be better to keep on taiga, the only difference I saw between them was the min temperature (yak -45 elk -50), elks having 70% wildness while yaks have 20%.

The monsters spawn infinitely until you destroy the basket. Do not do it unless you can burst down the basket.
The voidsight serum and the detective clothes aren't necessary, they just speed up the process.

It's pretty tough. I think it's only slightly less tough than an obelisk, but I'm not sure. Try using bombs or something with 400% building damage, it's definitely possible if you're prepared.
The thing spawns 7 chimeras every 5 seconds, so you better think hard before doing it.

Candy basket is down, I had to save scum despite playing on commitment but here's how it went:

>it goes berserk
>researcher tries to run
>draft all my colonists
>there's already like 10 of those wolf cunts in my choke point
>no fucking way I'm getting to that basket since it's still aways away
>open task manager
>end game process
>reload game
>draft everyone
>surround basket
>open with moelotl water slash or w/e the fuck it is
>everyone unloads on the basket
>use hellcat rifle fire blast to set the remain wolfs on fire
>rescue colonists as needed

All in all didn't go as bad as I thought.

Your old style can probably be salvaged, but it's hard to say how much work it would be. And it depends on what part of the style you miss.
If it's the color range you can try the vectorscope extension.
If it's the slightly smudged, painterly look, you can try finding an artist/mix. dino \(dinoartforame\) might be a good artist tag to try. Or just directly use art medium tags like acrylic paint \(medium\).
Also, you told me before that you used style components extension. That or IP-Adapter might still work with whatever images you used before, or even your older gens.

I'm playing with 400+ mods so loading takes a minute so when I do reload it's for colony ending shit, like the candy basket or a mech raid dropping into my barracks and them chain exploding taking out everyone in one fell swoop. I use reloads on commitment as more of a learning thing, like with the basket or the mech raid. Even when I was trying out naked brutality I didn't save scum when shit went wrong I just went ggnext.

Im really unable to describe the differences between those but the new one is extremely bright and shiny whereas the old one had it's colours very calm and more dark. The style as a whole was very smooth looking like plastic
