That worked because after the 3rd wave of spawned units the boss entered a 2nd phase in which it didn't heal anymore, but it also had a new aoe attack which destroyed all cover and which also did huge damage if there were no units in its range but essentially the fight was over by that point because he didn't heal anymore and just ran around trying to 1shot my units which couldn't be 1shot because of Suomi shields.This shit is like a bossfight in a gacha game and i still have one more boss to do. Also this was just "normal" difficulty, hard is probably whale only territory. It's sort of shocking and amazing game design in a gacha but that means that if you're not a turbo autist who hunches over your phone screen and digs down when they find this type of difficulty spike wall, then this game is just not for you. I'll stick with it because i like the soundtrack and voice acting and writing but these events aren't for everybody.

A new player quickly realizes that you can put on 3x speed and play very recklessly or even put most stages on auto and nothing bad will happen to you because campaign chapters are very easy and your dolls one shot most enemies. This makes him ill prepared to face tougher stages / bosses where reading skills and status effects becomes important. Gacha system limits design space for difficulty because making conceptually hard stages that can't be beaten by just facerolling enemies with your v6 limited character would have whales and phone users crying really hard online.However, PVA shows you can make more complex stages that aren't just a stat check. Maybe injecting a bit of PVA-esque design into the campaign and story events would do a lot of good.

Yay got it done at the end. I used a friends 41 V1 Suomi but honestly i think i would've been fine with my 37 v0. It went pretty smoothly when you put Qio and Tol on the pillars. Also Ullrid was a great tank for the fight since her multiple attacks cause a lot of assist damage. Now if only window capture worked when taking a pic of this game. I have to manually select the window to get it to capture and missed the victory screen so im kinda mad.

I've noticed you really do reach a point where enemy HP and DEF just gets so much higher than you're equipped to deal with that no ammount of strategy and buffing/debuffing can save you. About 10 levels above seems to be around the limit from what I can tell. Any more than that and you just straight don't have the damage capable of dealing with a lot of enemies.
