Day two of playing superblitz because I love being tilted and it's won by a new account with under 900 blitz rating. A great addition to the guy who won yesterday who had 2000 bullet rating, 1200 blitz, and 900 rapid. Playing chess on the board can be incredibly intense; the pressure to make the right moves, anticipate my opponent's strategies, and maintain focus is overwhelming at times. But then there's the stress of being a gay chess player off the board where societal expectations and the fear of judgment can weigh heavily. Thankfully, I draw inspiration from the amazing role models in the professional chess community. Just as I expand my chess repertoire by studying the games of grandmasters, I also find ways to broaden my social repertoire by observing how they navigate their own identities and challenges. Their success and courage help me cope with my own stress reminding me that both the chessboard and life are about strategy, resilience, and the beauty of being true to oneself.

What do you think about Stoyko exercises?>Find a fairly complicated position>Get out a pen/pencil and paper>You have unlimited time>Write down every (pertinent) line for as deep as you can see, making sure to include an evaluation at the end of the line. This will likely include dozens of lines and several first ply candidate moves.>At the end state which move you would play and it’s “best play for both sides” line becomes the PV>When you are done, go over each line and its evaluation with a strong player and/or a computer.
