A pretty underrated part of using off-meta builds in PoE 2 is that corrupted uniques with boosted corrupted stats that aren't in high demand is pretty sweet. Certainly a lot more interesting than just getting like curse on hit gloves or cannot be poisoned implicit rings.

I really don't suggest starting with minions, I found myself not being able to see anything and getting randomly 1 shot by bosses because of that, but just taking the free ones from a scepter should be fine.

I spent 200+ hours in settlers league and it was rewarding and fun af. Poe2 was an absolute slog to get through (warrior) and felt more like a chore. After the honeymoon phase wears off POE2 will have a hard time competing with its predecessor
