DQ 7 - PS1 version vs 3DS version ?

So I started playing DQX Offline with the english patch toward the end of 2023, got pretty addicted and played through the big midway events of version 2 and then dropped it for some reason I can't remember, then my girlfriend borrowed the hacked switch for a very long time and now I am sturggling to get back into it.My ultimate goal is to get into playing the Online game and i basically have 3 options:1. Start from scratch with a new character in V12. Import my Offline character as is and restart V2 online3. Finish up V2 offline and then import into V3 online.Just not sure if anyone who played both has any opinion, like is it even worth transferring a character or will I still have to grind up to be at the same point where someone who started online would be? And also will I be overwhelmed with the "new" content like monster taming and having a house and all that?I am mostly leaning toward just importing my current character and started V2 fresh so that I can skip the early tutorial shit but I am not sure if that's the best way.

Playing dq7 for the first time on 3ds and I have to say it's convenient that I can essentially do all my grinding with just my left hand since apparently the shoulder buttons also work to select actions. I just beat the slaughtomaton so I still have a long way to go from what I understand

I'm giving to the NES version a try and I'm surprised how few equipment the game has compared to the SNES/GBC version.The plan was to change the goof-off and priest to sages and fighter to soldier once she gets over 200 agility. Less isn't always more, but I like how in the earlier games sometimes you get the best equipment for a character really early (martial artist) or go for half the game before getting an upgrade (merchant).
