In reality, it's just a early seventh gen game. Like yeah, sure it's not some flawless masterpiece. But that's expected for early gen games since they're made on new powerful hardware. Something like a Wind Waker is a good example of this. As it suffers from many issues from writing, tons of glitches, and the obvious unfinished nature the game. But that game's reception changed from being "one of the worst entries in the series" to a "top 5 Zelda game". So I don't think it's deserve "negative response" from western Sonic fans.

i like shadow a lot. i would strap him to a reinforced table spread-eagle. first i would peel off each of his fingernails slowly. he tries to clench his hands to stop me but i cut through his wrist tendons, making it hard to move. i continue ripping off all four of his fingernails as he writhes in agony and bites his own lip so he doesn't make noise. next the ears come off. he tries to flatten them against his own head but it's useless. at this point he's bitten through his own lip, blood streaming down his chin, eyes wide and wild and unseeing. it gives me ideas. i use a tool to yank his mouth open and grasp one of his fangs with pliers, ripping it out in one go. he can't stop the short yell of agony from escaping this time around, and blood from his missing tooth joins the blood from his broken lip. i yank out the second, and he starts to cough and gag, choking on his own blood that's pooled in the back of his throat. he turns his head and tries to spit it out. tears form in the corners of his eyes. i feel bad looking at the pathetic thing, who's clearly shaking now from fear and pain. i pet his soft head, careful to avoid the wounds where his ears were. i tell him i love him, he is being a very good boy for me. but my affections and soft touches only seem to make it worse as he tries to turn away from my hand. he doesn't appreciate it like he should. i decide the rest of his teeth need to come out now. each of his teeth are yanked out one by one until there's nothing left. i finally take the gag out and let him close his swollen mouth, and he finally speaks. he tells me to "shop", no longer able to pronounce the t in stop. he's shaking like a leaf now and the tears finally start pouring down his face, as if the realization he could no longer speak right broke a dam. his fluffy blood-stained chest is heaving, his red eyes shaking from distress. i wipe his tears away and tell him again that he's doing very well, i love him and this is what's best for him.
