I own Undertale and have beaten the game, but I've watched countless playthroughs of it in the past, especially 'cause I like seeing other players' reactions and stuff. But regardless, of any of this, I have scene all of the cutscenes throughout all of these games in this franchise. More than once. I do in fact know what I am talking about. I have specifically cited and thoroughly analyzed Amy's cutscene appearances in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes and other stuff before, in the past, to analyze exactly what her story is about and how she was specifically written and portrayed. If I was going to have Shadow directly cause the explosion I would have it be collateral from him trying to protect Maria by fighting back against GUN. I'd then have Shadow basically just let himself be sealed away since he'd view himself as a dangerous monster that is better off locked away, with him simply losing the will to fight.
