The "mindless PoE gameplay about fighting large groups of monsters" vs. "boss-focused / smaller scale gameplay with skill and depth" binary is basically just propaganda put forward by GGG because it lets them off the hook.It's obviously possible to add depth to gameplay about interacting with groups of enemies. But expanding on this aspect of the genre would mean experimenting with new monster behaviors and AI, and taking an approach to skill design that's more positionally-minded than primarily about numbers. And that's not how GGG does things. It's much easier to pretend that the only way to move forward with ARPG gameplay is to make it more like another genre.

Finally got it a bit geared out (still missing 2 Grand Spectrums) and loaded up the proper gem setups and I fear that this build might actually be too good. With the charm buff patch around the corner, I wouldn't be surprised if Beira's Anguish or other charm-related stuff might be changed because of how powerful this build is. It hasn't become too popular yet, at least not in the western servers.Basic overview of the build is here >>521588586 and the main things i've added to the core is Mana Remnants and MoM. I basically don't use mana at all other than casting low level Eye of Winters for proccing the Infernalist self-ignite so my mana acts as a second life pool. Mana Remnants also overflow your mana for 2x its max on top of keeping your mana topped up during regular clearing, an incredibly strong persistent skill. Sometimes you get chunked for a ton that drains all your mana so I use Ball Lightning with Lifetap (and Unleash/Inevitable Crit) as a backup crit spell, it's also better for single target critting.My weapon swap is Saitha's Spear which allows me to aggravate (double dps) ignites if I aggravate bleeding. Rapid Assault has a guaranteed bleed on the final hit and supporting it with Hit and Run makes the skill incredibly fast.
