Its most noticeable with watchers since you can even see them pop in on the minimap with the uav booster. Where you look also matters too because it's camera relative. If you're looking down at the ground or through a scope, that's technically out of your line of sight. The other thing that affects it is what the games considers playable space. Maps with a lot of deep water or big structures like the giant trees on tarsh or megacity buildings take up the spaces the game would be using and just spawns them at the next closest available space, which gets even more messed up the closer you get to the edge of the map.
