The flag has the stun thougheverbeit. It always had the stun. Swedes quite possibly wanted it to not have stun, but they were literally so fucking lazy that it still does because it's a direct, 1:1 copy of stun lance.
Of course it's still a "secondary" melee weapon in your stratagem slot that also takes up a stratagem weapon slot on your back.

You can avoid being swarmed by simply quick checking the mini-map, and reposition as you see fit. As you may have noticed maps are also filled with ammo and other consumables, meaning you are hardly without ammo most of the time.

If you are afraid of voteless hordes, guard dogs can carry you all the time. In regard to fleshmobs, simply open fire, think like its a rodeo and go for the legs. Don't be afraid of using grenades either.

Cope with placing sentries in safe locations so you can fall back to them until you find a way to deal with hordes and/or move through them.
Learn to check your radar often so you can track enemy movements.
Id recommend bringing the stalwart, eat, orbital gatling barrage and the machine gun sentry.
EATs ohk harvesters in the upper leg section that is right under the main body, also ok for stingrays (aircraft).
Stalwart is great at killing all other units.
Orbital Gatling Barrage can destroy grounded warpships if you throw them on top of them or a bit under them, use it first instead of grenades since its basically free.

One of the reasons some people don't like squids is simply because they're stupidly tough and are hard to kill quickly. Generally you can kill Overseers with headshots, but only if you have a medium pen weapon, otherwise you just plaster their center mass until they fall over. Fleshmobs are much the same thing, they have no actual weak points though you can blow up their heads for increased damage. You can kill them with pure raw DPS or try to use explosives like an Autocannon to splash damage to multiple body parts at once.

As for people running from fights, yeah, that tends to happen against all factions. If the enemies aren't between you and an objective, there's zero reason to try to kill them, so you may as well not waste your time. Just break off, kill the fast ones that are able to catch up (mainly Elevated Overseers), and catch up to your teammates. If you're having trouble catching up, it might be because you're wearing heavy armor that's slowing you down, but otherwise a mobility backpack like the Jump Pack can be a major equalizer.

One True Flag is completely changed/overhauled. Allow the Stim Pistol to self-heal but at half the efficiency as it does teammates. Also allow it to heal SEAF Soldiers.

Give us the SEAF Soldier stratagem, a shuttle arrives and hovers over the area while 4 SEAF Soldiers rappel down and then follow your commands. They can pick up EATs off of the ground or hellpods, and follow the regular rules for civilian teamkill penalties and traitor status.

As the other anon pointed out, the stun/arc just doesn't feel effective. And as much as I like it, the 6 round revolving chamber and one-at-a-time reload scheme makes it significantly slower than the regular Grenade Launcher, so the stuns that you're landing don't feel very worth it relative to how long it takes to reload the thing.

I would like it more if the stuns had actual utility. Like, have it create a small and short-lived EMS field in the impact area that can stop all chaff and medium enemies and some heavies. I don't even care if it doesn't do more damage, just give it the actual crowd control that was advertised.

The only things you really have to worry about are having access to anti-tank weaponry, and having access to medium armor penetration (colloquially called AP3).

In terms of AT, all it really means is eventually unlocking access to the Recoilless Rifle, with Expendable Anti-Tank and Quasar Cannon being flavor options. Learning to manage AT weaponry (or red stratagems) is crucial for long-term enjoyment of the game, you don't really need it at low difficulties since heavies don't actually spawn in bases and on patrols until medium difficulty, but at higher difficulties you'll probably encounter at least one or two heavies with each patrol so you'd best get used to it.

Medium armor pen is mostly a thing you worry about against bots and squids. The MG-43 you got for free at the start of the game already does that, but there are primary weapons and the like which can also do it so you can have more variety in your loadout. You also have to balance that with your ability to quickly kill chaff (the weakest enemies that always attack in waves of a dozen plus at a time), which light armor pen weapons are generally better at doing. At the end of the day, the main thing you want to do is ensure your team has a good balance of weaponry to deal with all types of enemies, and not be too over-specialized so as to not deal with either spectrum of enemy type effectively (not too much anti-tank, not too much chaff clear).

As for upgrading your ship, it's mainly up to you, but some stratagem types just outright suck until you have a certain upgrade. For example, the Eagle is almost useless until you get Expanded Weapons Bay (you go from one Eagle 500kg use per rearm to two), and Orbital barrages are less useful without Zero-G Breech Loading. In the long run the one you probably want ASAP is Superior Packing Methodology, but in the short term it's best to focus on the stratagem type you like most and upgrade to level 3 in that, then focus on the rest afterward.

All right, sure, let's have some more buffs:

Shrieker Nests and Spore Spewers now require 40 demolition force to destroy, so you can't just AT them from a distance.

Illegal Broadcast Towers can no longer be destroyed and have to be shut down at the base.

Bricks missions now spawn 50% more enemies per wave.

All Fabricators now require 40 demolition force to destroy at D9 and above, so AT can't damage or destroy them anymore.

Bot rockets splash radius (Rocket Raider, Rocket Devastator, Gunship, Hulk Bruiser) increased by 50%, resulting in a splash radius that's 30% of where it was pre-nerf.

All Tank speeds increased by 50%.

Gunships again automatically spawn from Gunship Facilities when a player gets within 200 meters of them, and will also automatically deploy a pair of Gunships to a Bot Drop location.

Way too much to list for squids, but in general they need more enemy types, they need an open world map with no colonies or cities, they need more main and side mission objectives, and they need the D10 Mega Fort.

Overhaul the Leviathan so that it's a meaningful threat and destroying it is rewarding:
Greatly reduce its ability to snipe from across the map, make it super inaccurate at long ranges but more accurate at closer ranges.
Halve the strength and accuracy of the lasers, and give it back the projectiles it used to have so that it can fire both of those at once. Also don't make all of the lasers fire at once at the same spot, make each of them individually try to target the player.
Give it a shield generator like Harvesters but much stronger, so that the shield has to be collapsed before we can damage it. Put the generator body part somewhere harder to hit.
When it detects players underneath, it automatically warps down a patrol.
Make one or two at a time persist on the map instead of pathing to enter and leave the map. When one is killed, give a small experience and requisition bonus and don't spawn it again for 3-5 minutes.

I find really on squids it only has some trouble with large groups of overseers because they can be erratic and their weakpoints are really odd so if there is a group you will probably be running hot. And bugs are much of the same, literally an aim check outside of chaff it cripples legs on literally everything that isn't a charger.

People running off on their own have it a tiny bit easier to do objectives as patrols have less chances to spawn on them instead of picking to spawn near the host. It's not that they don't, it's that they do it less.

Machinegun sentry has a shorter cooldown and lasts a bit longer against weaker threats due to having a slower firerate.
Gatling is the OG sentry and deals with medium infantry a tad better than machinegun, but tends to run dry quicker and has a longer cooldown.
Both will absolutely lop you, and your teammate's heads off if you stay within their line of fire. Consider their placements before deploying.

Don't forget to get the Strafing Run stratagem. It's an eagle so it has multiple uses before needing to recharge and it's a very low cooldown "line clear" infront of you that kills most chaff and also deals significant damage to enemies that normally require anti-tank weaponry. Most eagle stratagem's lines of fire depend entirely on both the position you threw the stratagem and where the ball landed. Airstrikes tend to run horizontal side to side from point of impact, Strafing is vertical foward always. Be careful of terrain that will bounce your stratagem ball somewhere unpredictably.

The choice between Gatling Sentry and MG Sentry is whether you want something effective, or something on low cooldown. The MG Sentry is something you can afford to toss down any time you think you might want it, because it has the lowest cooldown of all sentries in the game. It isn't as strong as the Gatling Sentry, but if you move from place to place very quickly and don't stop to defend that often, it can be more handy since you'll almost always have the MG Sentry available at the new place you go to.

The Gatling Sentry is very good at what it does, and if you toss it down it almost certainly means that every non-heavy enemy in the general area is going to die. Of course, the tradeoff is that due to the longer cooldown, you'll be going longer periods without it active, and in the event that it gets destroyed (which can happen quite often if you put it down at the wrong time and in the wrong place against the wrong enemies), you'll be left with it on cooldown and nothing to cover your ass for a decently long period of time.

Enemy reinforcement spawns work on a timer. If it's off cooldown, that hovering eye enemy can send up a flare and call in reinforcements right on top of itself, and then there's a set time period during which no more reinforcements can be called. Solo players often take advantage of this, when their teammates trigger a reinforcement wave then they get to take objectives and kill enemies without worrying about a reinforcement wave being called on them.

The suggestion is that AT weapons should be AT, if they aren't then there is literally zero reason to take them. The problem isn't in the weapons it's the fact that heavy armor is one of the few ways the devs actually try to make things difficult so if you counter(and you have zero reason not to counter it) it then things are easy.

Yeah this is the main issue, people wouldn't be against AT being nerfed a bit if it wasn't the fact that after d6 you'll be encountering heavy units on the regular. Like why wouldn't people take AT stuff when your odds of encountering 3 war striders back to back is rather high? Really the issue is that nerftrannies asked for higher difficulty then get mad when people find ways to actually survive on those higher difficulties. I have no doubt if d11 got made people would find a way to get through it with little issue and develop a meta around it then they'll seethe that the game is too easy again and that we need a d12.
