I'm working on my game and I realized something, everyone here always talks about wishlists, the steam page, gameplay, graphics. but they never talk about the most important thing, words.for each picture, you could have 1000 words. so your steam page with screen shots is worth thousands of words.gameplay is a moving picture, 60 pictures per second, or 60,000 words per second.so with that in mind, there is no focus on words, why is that?I recently read a book in the novella genre while studying for my game. And I realized, a novella according to google typically contains 50,000 words.In other words, an entire book and story can be contained in just one second of gameplay (or two seconds if you're game is 30 fps)Considering how my game features 32 characters, each with their own unique backstory and dialogue, I realized that words are the answer.Through words, I can improve my gameplay loop. If I can get my gameplay solid enough, each second of play time will be like sharing my experience with reading the book in the novella genre.It's really efficient, to use words. Thanks to words I could write this post, and that's why I wonder why so many of my fellow devs ignore there importance?
