Finished Yu-no.I have countless minor complaints about story details but the overall experience was good. I enjoyed it as a multi-route adventure game and I liked the narrative. And of course I liked clicking on miscellaneous objects to see the witty comments from the MC.The game's artwork looks nice, both the character CGs and all the backgrounds where you point and click. I was also impressed by the music. It really added to the atmosphere in tense situations.I really appreciate the pc-98 sensibilities of this game. Almost every CG is presented from an angle that shows panties and you can click on panties, boobs, etc. for a humorous response. It's clearly made for a (non-castrated) male audience and that's very refreshing. However there's some stuff I find distasteful, especially heroines being raped before being killedThe best route of the point&click section is Mio's. It has a good heroine, it explores some mysteries that are expanded on later, and there's even a cool little puzzle to solve. Mitsuki's route also contributes to the larger storyline by revealing some information about an antagonist.Unfortunately Ayumi and Kanna are unbelievably awful heroines and their routes suck. Plus they don't add anything of significance to the overall story. These routes are basically just there for you to gather certain items, which then allow you to progress to the next phase of the game.The plot threads don't come together as well as I'd like, almost like they had a bunch of story ideas and stitched them together without working out all the details. And there are some parts that ought to have been explored more. But at a high level I like how the story evolved while building off of the foundation it set.

The game feels a lot better without it.I did use the "previously read text indication" though. That lets me stop clicking on things when I've seen all the available text, rather than needing to see the same line repeat.When the remake was released on vita (in japan), DLC of the original PC-98 game was included with first editions of the game. Both versions are fan translated and the pc-98 fan translation even puts the h-scenes back into the game. Unfortunately voice acting is not present as that was added in the sega saturn release.I haven't looked into the details of the remake but I wonder why they bothered remaking it instead of simply re-releasing this version as a standalone game.
