Pulling a purple in entry mode is VERY unlikely, but obviously good for learning, or if you just want a thread of elidnis or a gem.
Ideally if you're seriously chasing purples, you want to be doing expert modes, but just run some entries, even at level 0, to learn the raid, move to 150, and you can slowly increase the raid level as you improve and get better gear.

Don't sell yourself short, inferno is hard. Even if the moment-to-moment gameplay could be described simply, coming up with wave solves quickly requires a lot of practice, and it's still trying to not make any major mistakes for 90+ minutes straight.

The Zuk sim was so incredibly helpful. A long time ago, I got to Zuk like twice, died rather quickly, the put off doing inferno again for like a year. In my second bout of progression, I did some Zuk simming until I killed it a few times, and holy crap it removes so much of the nerves, and I fairly cleanly killed him on my next real attempt.
