I still find it funny that right after Candland left Bungie the UI design just started turning to absolute dog shit. Most recent and obvious piece of shit UI is the portal and how often it bugs out from simply swapping menus too fast and how just unreadable and cluttered it is. Now Marathon has a horrific HUD with a massive quest tab while having some tiny ass ammo counter. Then the actual menu design looks like one of the early drafts for Destiny's indev UI which looked terrible but functional for an indev UI pic rel. Just looking at the menus for Marathon gives me a headache from the amount of clutter.

I think Candland said the main reason for the cursor was to make inventory management easier, and I think it accomplished that. Did it need to be used throughout the entire game? Just tabbing around the map for instance would suck and as we all know now from the portal being implemented, those fun cartography maps really added a lot to the game and I think those really need a cursor to feel good.

This is the last week Bungie has left to announce Shadow and Order's delay with some degree of grace.
