has anyone done damage calculations on bladesinger with shadowblade vs eldritch knight with shadowblade? with all potential buffs (haste, bloodlust, tarazul, belm off hand, GWM bonus attack for BS), i feel like eldritch knight should theoretically be better on the first turn of combat due to action surge, but helmet of grit doesn't work with EK's war magic, so i don't know who comes out on topin honor mode, EK can get 8 attacks with a lvl 3 shadowblade on turn 1. bladesinger can get 7 attacks with a lvl 5 shadowblade. EK's setup is a lot less conditional tho. EK also gets more feats and a bonus with its fighting style

I'll be honest guys, nowadays I find it hard to play anything but Barbarian. Not only is it fun as fuck to play, but Larian gave them such an incredible volume of unique responses that with just minimal Cha investment they can be as good as being party faces as a dedicated Cha caster.

It's less cinematic than BG3 (main story is much less barebones with much less focus on dialogue) but the game is absolutely full of environmental storytelling (learning about things via exploring the world and implications/explanations given through side quests). The combat is also MUCH more challenging than anything in BG3. There are even some unfair instakill scenarios designed to catch blind first time players like me. But I still highly recommend the game if you like turn based combat.
