Bringing Deca back was the best decision they made for the climax, I was seriously not feeling the decacunny or Malkuth as villains since their motivations were mostly subtly led by their own programming and they didn't even know what they were fighting for. Deca was a fantastic villain despite being ridiculed early on, and he stayed CONSISTENTLY the same from beginning to end. Best of all he was the antagonist the girls, and above all Sensei, really needed. The bittersweet ending made it all the better, I actually felt bad for Deca.
