I watched a stream and an eagle storm went right over them and they were fine. Seconds later, things explode and they die as they shouldve when hit. The medium padded gives you medium mobility with the same survivability as heavy armor. A lot of attack combos that would instantly kill a medium player let you survive to stim with medium padded. That can matter a lot when your teammates are retards who can't be depended upon to call you in near your kit or provide any covering fire while you retrieve your kit.
