It's a gem used to manipulate time and space, Starline used it like Rick's portal gun but it's interaction with Super Silver and Super Sonic at the climax of the metal virus arc resulted in Sonic being blasted to the Sol dimension and the topez itself blasted to the past of Sonic's earth where it met it's demise at Trip's hands. The question that remains is what happened to the story arc around the so called eighth chaos emerald, brightly colored orange glow, Tails found this while adventuring with sonic and put it away before it was stolen by an unseen unknown thief who turned out not to be Anibus the new character but a person carrying around a coffin with the other seven chaos emeralds within and has a network watching all the characters in the comic including Surge and Kit, the Babaylon Rogues and Rough and Tumble for an as of yet explained purpose, in fact, the coffin's insides only seem to have slots for 7 chaos emeralds with an undefined middle slot meant to house somethingThis mystery has been in the background for about a year and a half, we know Sega plays the long game as Gemerl's VA in case files reviled on twitter following his debut that he'd done the voice work for Gemerl about 2 years ago prior so whatever plans we see, whatever we're seeing in promotional material and character releases were all decided years ago and only now starting to come out. something's afoot, and I'm getting a hunch the key to solving this lies in this very thread.
