This is more or less the first time in the modding scene's history where somebody actually bothers doing it in a meaningful manner (we had a VFX guide that was deleted later because of Limbus drama because of course it was, but nothing of value was lost because the guide amounted to "draw the rest of the owl"). Do note that older mods tend to have some outdated code that can greatly impact performance or just don't work all that well (e.g. old code that let you add new attack effects forces the game to load them every time ANY effect is called, which is obviously bad), so, it's better to grab new stuff to pry open.As far as making sprites go, I recommend learning how to kitbash, i.e. making new sprites by combining pieces of existing ones. You can get a LOT done that way, I've been using it for almost every mod (the only exception is N Corp and it still uses it to a limited extent for poses that aren't available in Limbus). Try to not tackle anything too fancy when you first begin. Focus on getting the basics done before you waste time tryin to make something complex work
