In Daggerfall, what level do you do the main quest at?I'm level 10, just sort of going from zone to zone doing a few side quests. I joined the order of arkay and the mages guild.I've been to 7 zones around the north west half of the map. Aside from the major religion in the area, there's really no difference between zones. especially not in gameplay. All just the same loop of acquire quest, fast travel to the dungeon, find the target, then recall back. I don't dislike it though. Dungeons are a lot of fun even about 30 hours in.

You are almost forced to fast travel - and I hate fast travel - because otherwise, you'll be going through loooooooooooooong stretches of wilderness where nothing is happening, most of the quests are timed in the most idiotic manner (sometimes you get a quest that's on the other side of the map with a timer so short you can't possibly finish the quest), the quests are not localized, so you'll be running back and forth across the whole continent like a headless chicken and the dungeons are just pure nonsense that stretch endlessly forever. Because EVERYTHING has to be procedurally generated. I guess Daggerfall Unity solves some of those issues, but I still need a lot of mods to make the experience fun.
