To my surprise when implementing them they behave exactly as expected with no surprises or bugs. Just thinking and not working keeps me rested and creative, I can iterate endlessly on the same ideas at a rate that would require a civilizational effort's worth of prototyping before finalizing them. I even playtest different versions of my game this way, sometimes I tweak the numbers or introduce new mechanics only to remove them the next day.
