I really need some sort of level creation tool for blender, I want to be able to quickly create textured interiors, my main theme is office/labratory. Does anyone know of anything I could use?I didnt notice the new thread

I cant make an incremental game.....
>last thread>why arent there any deck building dungeon crawlers?>top selling steam game today>a dungeon crawling deck builder by the Vampire survivors guy>you think you're funny, dont you?
>>564464927IDK. Kinda in the same bote
>>564465001Thank you to that anon, but basically I am super super lazy, I just wanna draw walls around and have the wall texture automatically applied, same for floors and ceilings, be able to be like "hey blender put a door here" and the geometry/mesh not be all fucked up, I guess I am after an architecture plugin or something?

>>564465317If the dev made money, nothing went wrong. You can sell bullshit to people all day, nobody cares.
>>564464239Just messing around with slang now. I set up a nice preview for building floors/walls and figured out a good way to handle building from "outside". Back to actual game mechanics tomorrow

>be me>play a few games>find them fun but end up not buying either>months pass>see a clone of one of those games>flopped despite the dev adding a huge dopamine injectionUhh what???? How does this happen?
>>564465317I played the demo and it was pretty boring mechanic wise. I was very surprised when it got 27K wishlists. It showcases how important appeal is and what the limits of appeal actually are.It really does go to show how much of design in gamedev is about getting people to actually try your game.
>>564470262>not buying
>>564470262>>be me>>play a few games>>find them fun but end up not buying either>>months pass>>see a clone of one of those games>>flopped despite the dev adding a huge dopamine injection>Uhh what???? How does this happen?
>>564470337I've bought too many games over at least a few years and haven't gotten around to playing them. No need to be in a rush to buy every single game, could probably outwait the dev and have a steep discount 2 years from now.
>>564469613how about sum ting wong
>>564464239Bit the bullet and added hitstop.IDK why people say this makes combat feel better
>>564427905stock market is high odds gambling, like with a good strategy your chance to win should be over 50% even if by just a bit and when you are at that level taking home double your risk you are profitable now, doing it in practice is of course not that simple but it is possible and I'd claim it is way easier than gamedevspend a year gamedeving vs a year learning how to trade and I'd say you're more likely to make money with trading
>>564471772Shit, I always forget to add that stuff
>>564471882I'm not seeing it. Hitstop should be reserved for big finishers.
just uploaded a 30 second clip of my vib ribbon clone to youtube so it can be reference for a fiverr artist less than 72 hours remain to make next fest...
>>564465317I would be happy if I could go back to my cancelled game, release it as is, and get 252 reviews worth of sales on it. At least it'll earn me something for all those years spent on it.

>>564464235the low res doesn't add anything to your game
>>564472609that's right, schua
>>564472646>that's right, schua
>>564465160nta but there's actually a couple indie deck building dungeon crawlers but in general dungeon crawlers (the oldschool first person grid based kind) are extremely niche and that's probably why we haven't seen them get mixed with other popular indie game tropes but I suppose that could change with the success of vampire crawlers
If you don't know how to program, you don't know how to design games. Game design IS a type of programming. It's just not necessarily computer programming. It's player programming.
>>564472165A nice hitstop should be accompanied with banger VFX, a dynamic zoom, and woosh boom badda boom.
>>564470319I came to the same conclusion some time ago, good graphics are a prerequisite: before people trying your demo, they need to be interested enough to do sogameplay can take from a couple of seconds to several minutes to be appreciated, with graphics is almost instantly
>>564472841I mean that's more fundamental. I have a rumble at least

>>564473441>WoW killerDid it do anything good that current games aren't doing? I've only played LotRO and RuneScape back when it wasn't classic.
>>564472748>TRVKEI'd even go as far as saying game design IS computer programming, it's not coding, but it's programming.People often confuse game ideas with game design, for example, saying the player should take fall damage, and they should take more the higher they fall, it's not design, it's just an idea.Saying the player should take no damage between 0 and 5 meters of fall, then after 5 meters they should take 30 flat damage plus 1% of their max HP for each subsequent meter, is game design, and it's basically pseudo code programming. This is why programmers will never be replaced, programming is a way of thinking and logic reasoning that jeets and non-programmers lack, which it's required for proper prompting.
>>564474524Yeah, but AI can generate Pong now.
>>564474514It had telegraphs/skillshots.Not sure what else it innovated on.I had only played wildstar for 1 hour after it went f2p.
>>564474665It can copy and paste from half a million snippets of pong code, yes. It can do anything an open source prefab would already let you do.
>>564474524This is some of the most delusional rationalizing regarding programming that I've ever read.

>>564465317INCREMENTAL GAMERS HAVE VERY HIGH STANDARDS
>>564471981Nah, a little hitstop on every swing feels good man. Make it a config per attack. Even if you play games that you think don't have hitstop, the ones that do it right have a little anyway.Wind upWind downHitstopHitstunIt's to combat in every game what coyote time is to every platformer.
>>564469613call him "Kusoge"
>>564475207>INCREMENTAL GAMERS HAVE VERY HIGH STANDARDS
>>564471772>>564471882It doesn't make it feel better. It's a hack just like screen shake. Something to distract the people who can't see through it.
What's really sad about MMO98 is its a $6 game and most of the negative reviews have 3-4 hours and they complain about a lack of content. Like my brother a bigmac costs more than that game and you got 3 hours of entertainment out of it, get over yourself.
>>564475086emotioneering
>>564475634plus they only paid 5ish bucks because of the launch discount? (i'm not in us)
>>564475634Youre assuming they enjoyed the full 3-4 hours. Most are complaining that you basically see everything before an hour of play time, and they most likely either kept playing for the benefit of the doubt, or just had it running on the side
>>564474524You know what, I think you're right. Even when working with AI you need to be able to articulate what you want for the AI to create it for you. It won't give you good results unless you go into specifics of how things should work and how the fuck you gonna do that unless you understand logic and programming. Sure, it might occasionally shit out a functional script if you take enough shots in the dark throwing vague prompts at it but try making a full game like that. Not gonna happen.>>564474665Where's your AI generated Pong then?
>>564474514>>564474820Ultimately I think the problem was that it was just a WoW clone. It wasn't different enough to distinguish itself and people who tried it went back to WoW as they did with so many other games.
>>564476513Cuff status?
>>564476961Busted
>>564476513I don't understand what his fucking problem is, make $100k in a week but refuse to make more because he just decided to not update his game at all even though it's a little broken.
>>564475634gamers are the most insufferable people in the world.at least at a game studio there's no customer support as a developer. But if you run your own game good luck staying sane lol.
>>564476513>>564476961i have no idea what this means but it sounds degenerate
>>564476513oh no!
>>564477167He says that he removed the "what's next" post, but I don't know what it was. I take it that he's planning on not updating the game?I think he doesn't understand why the game becomes unappealing after the first hour and how good it could be.
>>564471989https://youtu.be/QMllpd-IEog?si=ghNg3t92jNTrqlqbdo u guys think this is enough for the artist i hired on fiverri cant believe i suck at playing my own game dawgs
>>564477167if you do something for the money and it outperforms your expectations then you can immediately quit.
>>564465317I told you it's going to sell entirely because of the "old windows UI" aspect because people are very nostalgic for it right now. If they actually bothered making a good game to go along with that UI they would have been set for life.
>>564477318But it makes even less sense if it's for the money because the better your game is doing the more effort you put into maintaining increases the perception of the game exponentially. It's the halo effect but for games.>>564477270This is the only thing that makes sense, that he's completely uninterested in learning why games and is only interested in pulling the lever on the slot machine
