I can't tell if Eggman asking Knuckles to deliver his ransom note to Sonic in 06 is literally knuckle-dragging stupid or a 9D Chess master play.Because the end result of Knuckles actually going along with it is Knuckles being banished to the 2 centuries in the future along with Sonic and Tails, which means no one is guarding the master emerald for the next 200 years.But Eggman would have to be an idiot to think that would work, wouldn't he? Advance 3 was the last time Knuckles fell for one of his sob stories and that was because Sonic got so sick of it he angrily scolded Knuckles until he cried. Besides Shadow's story, it's not like 06 is known for its decent writing, they could've just fucked up and made Knuckles an idiot without realizing it.
I fixed Shadow and made him more palatable to the audience.

one reason i dislike this series being so based in skill and speedrunning is that it views mistakes as something to be avoided in repeat runs instead of things to move past, enemies primarily as points to be gained rather than hostile yet unique obstacles to be dealt with if not evaded, and the potential benefit from exploration as a path that more quickly leads to the end of the level rather than any material bonuses that would help you out in the long termtldr i wish sonic games encouraged people to explore and see as much of the level as they can through multiple characters' abilities, instead of obstacle courses meant to be blitzed through as fast as possible, exclusively by the fastest character in the seriesthat and the main struggle being just getting to the next level rather than playing previous levels over and over trying to get just a few more points

My problem with the Superhero "No kill rule" is that you have to portray it as a good thing or else you are SAYING it's a bad thing. I agree with the IDW fans when they say "The comic cannot have Sonic condone vigilante murder because it's for children". I understand that argument. The problem is that it draws attention to this argument with Zavok and Eggman. Characters who intentionally try to kill people. Eggman has succeeded in killing three named characters in this comic and it is the driving force of much of the drama. By keeping him alive and allowing him to continue doing horrific things the comic is effectively arguing that vigilante murder is justified and that Eggman should be killed. It works in Batman because as Batman said himself, if he wanted to kill villains then he would be too good at it. He would never stop. He'd basically become an overcompetent serial killer. It works with Daredevil because his main rival is in cahoots with the law. If he kills him he's turning him into a martyr and destroying his only defense. Spider-man is a beacon of hope That there is always a better way.. It is thematically against his character to kill people. There is no in-universe justification for Eggman. Keeping him alive is hurting and killing people.
