I think there was a point early in the development of Deltarune's story where there was only one dark world, which was some kids playing with toys (the chapter 1 dark world) and Kanotynes' card characters were more fleshed out (4 kings, and queens acknowledged at all, etc)The edge of the shadow featured in the 2012 dream would just be in this one world, and would of course be the end of the game
