The issue is the gear treadmill and the same core game design for 10+ years.Back even in WoD, sometimes you had a piece or trinket from an older raid that was better on some specs. Legion changed that. Now every patch had massive spikes in item level that left everything the previous patch in the dust. Smaller, less social Mythic+ became the core source of gear and the game turned from MMORPG into a lobby sim, aided by layering seperating people from each other in the world and severing the leveling path for new players and alts from a structured, zone based system to something that scaled with you and no general path needed. For ten years we have run on this treadmill of pure vertical progression. Every season going up until the end when a laughing Ion backhands us back down to start over again in the equivlant of greens and repeat the process. Sometimes the scenery or texture of the treadmill changes. But its that same tired, grinding machine. I'm tired boss. My legs hurt.
