I am the opposite of Terry Davis. He hated third party libraries with a passion and thought that everything had to be self-made, including the compiler.Meanwhile I almost exclusively use Godot and constantly ask AI for tips.

vibecoding is a traponce your codebase grows large enough your ai will have trouble maintaining it because it doesnt know how files interface with each other
>>569290645Did you time travel here from Q1 2025? GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.8 don't have these issues at all.
>>569290645You tell AI to make documentation as it goes. Each commit Claude makes for me updates API reference + systems documentation with file linkbacks. The system prompt ingests those files for architectural reference. I also use Claude to create prompts for Claude which gives it more detail in the input about the architecture. This may be the case if you ran out of 1M context window but you would need like a game that's bigger than AAA titles for that to happen.
>>569290645'dite copeyou've been saying this for years. It isn't true any more. Buy claude max and find out of yourself. luddites are obsolete and clinging to delusions like this.
>Before AI>No games made>After AI>No games made
>buy claude max>$100 per monthlollmao evenalso, there are no good ai games being made that are sufficiently complex, proving my pointshow me a rimworld clone made with ai

I just realized my idea requires a koikatsu editor.I already have 10 basemeshes. What I need is the danbooru tag haicuts and some costumes. And then modify everything using shaders and textures to make the 512 wifis. And then add a roguelite dungeon and generate a sort of GTA town to fugg the wifis.
>>569290496I posted progress after the thread was linked so I might as well follow up on itthe lamps also change color (the crystals appear elsewhere in the game and glow the same way, so I wanted it to be consistent) and, because of the lighting system I designed, the player overlapping with the lamp's light would cause an absurd brightness so I made the lamps fade out the closer the player is to the lamps in a way that nobody will notice any overlap. The player's light can change size (wolf ears give the player a larger vision radius for example) so it also accounts for that, the lamp fades out according to how bright the player's light is.

>>569292145I just want to understand because I still don't fully understand VRAM, I spent a lot of time optimizing VRAM despite not knowing what exactly it isI assume it should be 1.2 GBand I assume it's like RAM built into the GPU so it can apply shaders and shit readily and easily or keeping a single texture ready so it can be copy-pasted every time the CPU finds a texture is needed... I guess that kinda answers my own question, it's keeping the base textures ready to apply to objects that come into view
I've never felt threatened by aitards... maybe it's because I have a three digit IQ
>>569292006you sound like a poorfag, probably european
>>569292428I assume that's supposed to be memory usage, the first number is RAM and the second number is VRAM which looks like it's on PS2
>>569292496you misspelt aiCHADalso you dont have a 3 digit IQ. Lus have to have less than 50 IQ, any higher and you use AI.
>>569292645That'd make sense.Doesn't that mean most games would use more VRAM than memory, though? I can't imagine my game using memory for much other than storing textures that're being used.
I don't like AI anymore and am telling all my friends not to use AI. Yes this is because of the spam.

>>569292937depends on the game, but usually yeah because textures are pretty big now and screen resolutions are high and you can use double and triple buffering and so on. also everything shaders work on will be using vram

>>569293035I would probably be an AIfag if /agdg/ wasn't spammed with AI from day one, years ago. I quickly learned to dislike it because of that.We used to have people who were using AI before it went viral, making games like https://store.steampowered.com/app/1642010/h8machine/ and it didn't offend anyone.
>>569290838Thirdies and bottom feeder westerners (the other kind of thirdie) can't afford that

>>569293829Yes, AI wasn't viral at first, limited to shit like AI dungeon and the image generation that h8machine used. Nerds knew it existed but it wasn't impressive to anyone. Then one day, suddenly, it became super popular after a huge volume of investment was dumped into it.h8machine released after that but didn't really make any money despite the virality of the technology. I doubt it got marketed much though. The game was 'okay', but it turns out a very similar game was released a year or two after h8machine that did far better using emojis instead of AI generated stuff. I think h8machine had some game design complexities which weren't very amenable to a general audience which got fixed with the emoji game's roguelike system.I can't remember the emoji game's name though.

>>569294202You cannot safely or intentionally give yourself testicular torsion, as it is a painful medical emergency that typically happens due to an inherited physical trait, not an action you can control. Attempting to intentionally twist or manipulate your testicles can cause immediate, severe physical trauma, bruising, and permanent tissue damage. If you are researching testicular torsion, it is important to understand how it actually occurs and why it requires immediate emergency care.Understanding Testicular TorsionThe Cause: Most people who experience testicular torsion are born with a genetic trait called the bell clapper deformity. Normally, the testicles are securely attached to the scrotum. In those with this deformity, the testicles hang loosely inside the scrotum and can rotate freely, allowing the spermatic cord to twist.Triggers: When the condition occurs, it usually happens spontaneously. Common triggers include rapid growth during puberty, sleeping, cold temperatures, or minor physical trauma/vigorous exercise. It is not something a person can intentionally trigger at will.
