How do I learn to craft? I know loosely what most of the basic pieces do, I know what desecration and fractures are, but I don't know how all the pieces fit together. I don't have my 3rd or 4rth ascendancies, I was waiting for my second divine orb to drop so I could get carried through it. How is alt spamming worse than buying hundreds of bases?Let me preface this by saying that crafting is one of, if not my favourite, part of PoE 1The reasoning for not having scouring orbs is usually given as not wanting to bring back alt spamming: sitting in your hideout and spamming hundreds to thousands of alteration orbs to roll the affixes you want. And I agree, this kinda sucks.But let me counter that by asking how it's better to instead have to buy hundreds of bases? If I want to roll +3 spell skills on an ilvl 82 amulet, that will take on average 177 perfects augs (assuming the suffix is open). So then instead of just buying one base and rolling it until I succeed, I'm about to spend the next 40-60 minutes buying at least 200 magic solar amulets with an open suffix.Maybe it's just me, but this is much worse than even alt spamming.

i think ggg should rework breach and its crafting, here is my reasoning, as a djinn build all rings and belts for me only come from breach as they has special unique minion modifiers, now the problem is the loot on the ground becomes obsolete, here is my proposal, everything in the breach tree crafting stays the same however you must offer not only a wombgift and blood for the craft but the item itself you want to be crafted upon, e.g. a white normal belt has a higher chance of crafted mods as it has more open affixes, blue magic has a lower chance as it has more 2 mods but you can somewhat deterministic craft a good base item with minion mods onto it (this works for casters too) thus making all ground rings and belts and amulets non obsolete again for minion and caster build as you need to pick up good bases and white items for the breach tree crafting
