I think what it needs to do is to mesh cleanly with the narrative flow of each weapon.I know the lot of you scoff at the idea that Monster Hunter has a good narrative, but the narrative for each MH is emergent, and is fed by the mechanics of each weapon. The hunts and the stories we make for ourselves out of each hunt is formed by the interaction of the monster, and the weapon mechanics. Each weapon's narrative flow is unique. Greatswords are all about prediction and massive hits. Dual Blades are all about evasion and movement. One of the reasons I'm not very keen on my own main - Chargeblade - at the moment, is because they've neutered the SAED, which is the narrative payoff for many Chargeblade users. The current mechanics and numbers are fine. Don't get me mixed up there. It's perfectly usable. Good, even. But I'm not getting my payoff and I don't like that.I would like the for the Boost Bracer to give me back my massive SAEDs. I don't need to do them back to back to back. If anything, less is more, here. But I would like them to be nice and juicy.The Clutch Claw was unwelcome because it constantly intruded on the narrative flow of each weapon to the point where you were half playing your weapon and half playing the Clutch Claw. And nobody liked that.
