Genesis is the big talk now and rightfully so but i am happy the general is back so i can be in a place were i can reliably gush about XX:DE fixed my complains with the original and they were only a tiny few ones. Felt so freaking good not having to use a wiki to do simple gathering and monster kill/drop missions. Getting more Storage probes helped tons and i really like the model upgrades. Having to leave Mira and it being destroyed too was some bullshit tho and no amount of exposition will ever make me forgive them for it and i also wish Switch 2 and co didnt cost like a trillion bucks so i could get one and enjoy the game with online stuff.As for Genesis, im actually interested with how they go the traditional JRPG route, at least design wise. Wanna see how they do like that.

I think xenosaga is just genuinely a hard sell For the record 3 is one of my favourite games of all time and I do really like 1 as well, I'm not just being a massive hater faggot for shits hereBut even still, 1 looks dated as fuck. Far more than its predecessor gears which still looks great today thanks to its timeless spritework and its reserved usage of 3D for mechs. And then 2 just outright looks like total shit unrelated to aging or being dated. They only really start looking amazing when you get to 3. The combat in 1 and 2 is extremely slow, and only 1's combat is actually kinda good under that slowness, 2's is just bad through and through. THEN, one of the biggest and most infamous memes related to 1 is it being a movie game with a totally unbalanced cutscene to gameplay ratio, particularly that opening Its a great experience overall but theres so many caveats, I can totally see why corpo execs would look at it and be like "A port of this will not sell"And the alternative, a full on remake? >>570246689Be able to discuss and theory craft a brand new Xenoblade was entirely outside of my expectations for Not-E3, I only expected a XB2 S2 patch and MAYBE Xenosaga ports.Each showcase was respectable (except for Microsoft) and there were a few bangers in each but Genesis just became my dark horse favorite of the entire event, it's main competition being Stellar Blade:BR, FF7R, Code Veronica and Virtual Fighter:Crossroads I'm already immensely interested in the main cast, compared to XB3, which I love but I wasn't sure about them until Monolith dropped the clip of them discussing their hobbies. I love the aesthetics of Eleanor (first time since Elma that I liked a Xeno protag visually off the bat), Not-Clive, Purple Miyabi and the Ojousama rival girl, the Elf gunslinger and other guy I need to see more of. I'm dying to see more of it in general until the next direct, and I wish they dropped official artwork but I could see why they didn't.

>>570258058There's 2 big issues with Aionios imo:1. The whole reason Xenoblade 1 locations were cool was because they were parts of these giant titans and you could see these vast locations you were in and also their context as the leg or arm of a giant god. Xenoblade 2's locations were similarly cool because of being these big living things you were existing in. These elements are completely absent from 3's world and its just a set of generic open zones with some familiar visuals.. Feels like maybe from the concept art there was originally going to be a stronger visual hook, like the ferronises were going to be way bigger and a much bigger part of the setting, but what we got is what we got and its uhh... nothing.2. The world is destroyed at the end. This happens in all the games, but to a lesser extent. Sure they no longer live on Titans in 1 and 2's endings, but they still live on this world with presumably the same general laws of physics, rules, power systems, etc. and you can imagine infinite future stories within these locations. In 3 everything is just gone because none of it was really real and anything new brought forth into the world was outright deleted entirely. No character in 3 actually gets a future for the version of themselves that existed in 3, and no aspect of 3's world, history, power system, etc. will ever persist into the future.
