I got called out again irl.>when is your game going to be doneI honestly don't know. I used to have a vague timeline of it being this year. But I just get so many setbacks that I genuinely don't know. Worsened by being unsure on which direction to take my game since I have two that sound good. Despite the neet status I'm doing quite well financially but apparently that doesn't matter because according to them I can make more from 1 successful game in a short time span. They don't seem to realize the true difficulty of gamedev or how competitive it has become. But then here comes BiteMe that somehow just does it, sure they're not a big success but they can churn through games like nothing. There are anons who spends years on one game and it's genuinely nothing amazing, then BiteMe shows up and makes a game in months that look more interesting and sell better. I wish I was like that, able to lock in and make games at a high pace. Maybe that's just the benefit of having a team and putting oneself in a position where failure will bring you a devastating financial reality versus living at home. Marnix was right, I need to treat this jobby more seriously. I'm going to draft up a new document to see what I need to do to bring this game from "in development" to "released" and see what needs to be done.Thank you for reading my blog.
