Steins gate First half is basically:“haha funni mad scientist text messages bananas” for like 10+ hours. People call it “masterful character building,” but if you’re not already invested, it just feels like padding disguised as slice-of-life filler. The pacing is glacial, and the story acts like every minor lab interaction is deep lore.Then it does the classic VN trick:hard gear shift into serious plot.Suddenly it’s time travel, worldlines, fate, emotional stakes, blah blah. And yeah, the second half is way more engaging, but it relies heavily on you already caring about characters the show spent forever messing around with.
