At the end of Retsnom they had dub Darumi make the end of the last line sound sinister but in the jp that wasn’t the case. So it was meant to be played straight but the localizers decided no let’s do a wink wink nudge nudge like the end of a horror movie to maybe hint things aren’t so good On the other end though I will say the en did do something different that I think did make it get to me more. In the end of goodbye Eito in the dub the final lines Eito says are seemingly being said out loud while he’s dying, vs the original jp it was clear and seemingly in his head not being said out loud.

Everything with Kodaka listed first would not exist if things went according to plan, no Retsnom, no Multiple Eitos or Goodbye Eito or V’exhness route. I do find it interesting that when pressed to come up with routes he ended up just elaborating on some characters he couldn’t come up with different stories he just made each character the star of that route and let the audience in more and more on the things only he’d been aware of himself of how the characters are like Darumi secretly being more normal than she seems
