Combat is therefore just adapting the set rotation (which devs have increasingly done for us), and reacting to mechanics which start to feel samey after a number of years of similar design. Content becomes difficult only due to needing 8 retards to do things flawlessly at the same time. Social stuff is genuinely the most dynamic thing we have, and for all it's ills it's still the main thing that sets this genre apart from others.

If you want a game that is consistently scary, but puts you in a position where you eventually overcome those fears, I highly recommend reinstalling and playing it. I played solo and while I would have loved to have someone with me I think the experience of being alone really added to the general vibe.I'm really looking forward to the Entropic Break DLC that's supposed to come out at the end of the year. With any luck I can convince my friend who got too spooked to pick it back up so we can play through it together.
