A lot, way more than you expect, is client-side or at least available to the client; that's why we managed to have private servers in the first place. All the zones, quests, items, spells, and mobs are all client-side or at least cached on the client. Making the leaked server compatible with 1.18.1 took about a day. The only things left to do were placing mobs in new zones and scripting the few things that were needed. And yeah, Tortoise WoW did it first, a single dude working in his free time after work had things working better and faster than Octo. Octo doesn't really have any devs, they just let Claude handle stuff, it kind of works, as there is nothing really hard about 'reversing' 1.18.1.
