I think size slots should be removed cause no one uses large monsters. Them taking up space another monster could fit into just makes them far too situational to ever want to use or level up. Just make it so size slots are in pvp only to keep balance but in normal play you can have any team you want

Did a quick test with the Speedy Dungeon mod and it certainly is speedier, but also isn't a perfect solution, text can queue up to absurd amounts and if you hold attack instead of mashing against, for example, Drooling Ghoul groups it can fill up quick. A couple times I've defeated an enemy and picked an item up and had to sit and wait to see what I had acquired.

I was already ambivalent when it came to Treasures, the HD2D remakes and DQM3, but DQ7R being headed by an ADHD addled fuck who blatantly had no appreciation for the original, and Horii just going along with all the changes gutting and dumbing down the game, was the icing on the cake. That, along with DQ12 being rebooted, has left my hopes with any future release in the franchise in the gutter. On the plus side it's given me more chances to branch out more with other RPGs. I've gotten through most SaGa games during this time, and I've started to get into tactics/strategy RPGs recently. The way things are going I wouldn't be too bothered if DQ12 was the last one. DQ1-8 was a great enough run for the franchise as is.

I watched this video to see which version of DQ3 to play (I'm picking 3 because I like how the protagonist looks, and a lot of people say it's the best DQ game overall). https://youtu.be/ZfyX-UcvnzI?si=HP8seCN-7Y4gRlAmIt seems like the best ports boil down to either:A. the Super Famicom version (with a translation patch), B. the Gameboy Color version, orC. the HD2D Remake version. The GBC's main advantage seems to be that it has a bonus dungeon and monster medal grind not available in any other version. Is it actually worth playing the Gameboy Color version for this aforementioned dungeon that it adds? I like the idea of post-game content, but it really sucks that the GBC version has only white backgrounds for battle and loses all the colorful and detailed sprites and backgrounds of the SFC version.Otherwise, it seems like the SFC version seems to be the one people loved and played the most. But it also has way less extra content and QOL than the HD2D Remake version (minus this weird thing where apparently the default battle speed for the HD2D Remake version is way slower than the SFC version?).The only real downsides of the HD2D Remake version are the censorship and translation. How bad is the censorship? Also, apparently the translation in the HD2D Remake follows the route of modern "localization" with lots of made-up shit. Is it still tolerable though or is it filled with obnoxious memes?

I'm playing DQM3 and a boss completely wiped my team so I'm going to try to get some nice monsters. Thinking on a Slionheart and Krystalina along with my Overkilling Machine that I need to synthesize again since I went for the Uberkilling like a retard. I also have a Spiked Hare that I'm using since it was one of my first synthesized monsters and apparently is pretty good? But what else would you guys recommend? Or is better to just defeat this boss so I can get to the upper echelons and try to get something stronger?

I hate playing games sped up, I never used the fast battle mode in XI or any other RPG I can think of, but there's something uniquely sluggish about DQM. I had to speed up DQM1 to make it tolerable, and even the modern DQM games have an unbearably slow default battle speed.
