Update when?Or was this actually the final final for realsies pinky promise on me mum final one?
>>5817580261.4.6 is the crossplay update
>>5817580261.4.7 will add a public beheading for the people who put torches in the wrong biome. And then they'll nerf the reaver shark again for good measure.;)
Red made the early game too easy - time for another round of nerfs.
ALRIGHT, FELLAS. After enjoying some games in my backlog, including some new romhacks I've been wanting to try, Terraria has won the coinflip for "what game am I gonna burn 200 hours of my time on".I hope you fellas don't mind if I post picks of my progress during the playthrough. I'll be using my modlist here. >>581622930It's gonna be the first time I play without Thorium. Gonna really feel weird.
With the new beginnings mod, I chose the "Zoomer start" last time, which gives you a free cellphone, but cuts your initial HP to 40. This time I'm going trailblazer. Gives you a free hermes boots. Should make the initial pre-hm a little faster.Things are already starting off interesting.
Lunar Veil Legacy has a ton of starting buildings. They must expect you to use them for your base, but they're IMO ugly as sin. Too cluttered with trash, not practical for NPC housing. But I don't want to just make commieblocks, so I decided to step out of the ol' comfort zone. Think I'm gonna make a wizard tower, except replace the magic with tons of guns and swords.
By the way, I hope you don't mind my poor man's chandeliers. I use them when I can't be bothered to go underground to find them, or make the real deals. Also, they're great for houses that have 2 blocks in the center, for symmetrical reasons.
>to the left of spawn is the jungle, with a strange lunar veil biome with enemies that take 1 damage from grenades>to the right is some strange halloween biome, that intersected with the corruption, and all my attacks also do 1 damage>can't even dig down because there's crap that's immune to my pickaxeI am not a happy camper right now.
>>581732205>>580815529>i've had the wizard tower thing come up a few times, usually when building hallow towns, and generally found it best to have the wizard tower top out of view while you're standing on the ground, but within view from a nearby building that you're also likely to be in sometimes. lets you see the top of the wizard tower more often than just when you're flying by or are up with the wizard, and still gives it that feeling of being very tall because you can't see it all while on the ground. this is despite the fact that really, it's not THAT tall, but it still feels like it is. if you were to make it a lot taller you'd really only be depriving yourself of seeing the top all that often, mostly. it can definitely work and i've made it work before though.reposting this because this anon was quite clever
>>581779651Who is this creature, and where is that door supposed to lead in that dilapidated hut?>Ok ok you can hear methe dialogue's kind of amateurish - it could at least use a comma, i.e. "Ok, you *can* hear me">a bag of* some stuff to start withthis is more grammatically correct>you'll need it to progress onthis is kind of clunky, it would flow better if it were:>"you'll need it to press on" (or more simply) "you'll need it to progress"
>>581759002it's always astounding how many things crossplay is shoved into for no reason to the detriment of literally everything
>>581735615i want to have Fun with that bug
I was about to do a new run but then I remember what they did to the reaver shark and ended up punching a hole in the wall instead.
Started playing vanilla again a few weeks ago after a few years, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. The game having Magic Storage-lite mechanics built in now and a lot of QoL features made vanilla a lot less tedious. I'm really loving the '"new'" furniture and weapons, the palworld stuff is probably the best crossover content in the game since it's actually useful and not annoying to get. Going for Mage/Summer for prehardmode right now, will end up change to Ranger/Summoner with a chaos/DoT build once I bother with hardmode. Here's my underground jungle officeblock, I'm going to turn the upper rail area into some sort of train station that connects all my underground offices. Building is still bit of a pain in vanilla though. Wish they added pick-block and some sort of paint picker into vanilla, feels like I'm spending more time juggling my inventory than actually building.
>>581798730cool build, glad you're having fun
>>581798730Loving the background walls, very well done.

>>581792101I cant answer your questions, as this is my first playthrough with the mod. This isnt even the worst of it. The mod litters alot of nonsensical buildings near spawn. I am gonna tough it out, but if things dont improve, i might drop this playthrough.
Sleep deprived early good night

So I've been thinking, I want to try fishing to get alot of my materials. What do you think of my archaic fishing hole so far? Any suggestions?
By the way, Lunar Veil definitely messes with alot of worldgen. It's no wonder they recommended that I keep my content mods to a minimum before installing this. I dig down not even 50 blocks and everything already looks snot green for some reason.
>>581868049that should work, though you may want to make it 50% bigger, as you want 300 tiles of water
>>581869631Yeah, that's a good idea. Got some buckets that I'm gonna use to empty out the water that gets stuck in my hellevator.
Since I've got my hellevator well underway, I'm brainstorming how my underground city is gonna be. Drew up a rough draft in MS paint. will expand on it later. What do you think? Obviously they won't be commie blocks. I've got this idea of making connected chimneys for each house. Might expand it into a full octagon for more NPCs.
>giant glowing mob that has a bunch of minions around itHmmm, wonder if I should attack it?
Okay. That was a really bad idea.
>cheese the strange jellyfish boss by climbing up the rope with grenades>dropes a diary from some literally who npc>throw it out, don't really care>come across this nowI can see this is going to be a regular occurrence.
Good place to start building the underground city.
:l
Told myself I wasn't gonna make commieblocks. Boy, did that plan fall through. At least I had the idea of giving each room its own unique wood-themed decor. It's hard to notice because Lunar Veil makes everything snot colored. On the plus side, this spot came with a free fishing hole.
This magic engineer guy sells some good stuff, but he's in the biome where you can't see anything. Seriously, whose idea was that? I can't even tell where I'm going.
>biome to the right of spawn has doors that can't be opened>but you can climb over them, so it's pointless to make them locked>the temple right next to this door is covered in lihzard temple spikes that do 80 damage>permanent water candle effect that spawns in 20 enemies on screen>each does 105 damage >actually manage to get into the temple, since the entrance is open>there's nothing at the bottom, it just tapers off into underground like a pyramid would, but a pyramid at least has stuff to loot>essentially the entire biome is uselessI hate to do this, fellas, but I'm thinking I should bail on this run. What do you think? Lunar Veil makes Calamity look like Thorium, and I haven't even been playing for longer than 5 hours.

>>581919135>Sounds like the usual modding games and inevitably abandoning it after story. Reminds me of every modded Skyrim runThat's the sad thing. This is the first time in ten years I've ever abandoned a run without toughing it out. The last time this happened was when I made the CAUSTIC mistake of trying to run thorium, calamity, Spirit and Tremor together. Like, even Calamity is just bad enough that I want to see what else happens, if only to mock it. But Lunar Veil feels like it's not even finished.
>>581903953Damn, sorry to hear that

Uhhhhh.... Have giant harpy feathers always dropped in pre-HM....? Never had this happen before...

I was thinking of starting a new playthrough, sans lunar veil. Had some other mods i wanted to try, but now 4chan is giving me problems posting images. Perfect.
