While people shit on D2Y1 there was an ambition and presentation there that died quickly afterwards, partly because Bungie was no longer held accountable by Activision to deliver a AAA product. The game quickly devolved into a vomit inflated art direction and D1 nostalgia bait. The Crota’s End remaster whiffed on what made the buggy original one fun and turned it into tedium, at least on that second encounter. Kings Fall will forever be the best raid in the franchise for its grandeur, challenge, and simplicity. Even if Wrath was the most fun. As I’m typing this I just remembered GoS exists. I’m not going to bother, that one is self explanatory. It’s a good thing Bungie remastered VoG and KF because looking at the D2 lineup as a whole is kinda yikes.

Big from in d2 is lack of variety in customization. There's only good and bad fragments there's no fragments that let you take a different approach with your subclass other than arc blind builds but even then its just better to kill everything than it is to temporarily blind. So the question is how would we expand the fragment system to create interesting builds?
