god i hate roguelikes

>>582520478yeah
I hate mystery dungeons
I didnt know it was possible to fucking snap your arm trying to lockpick something, what the absolute fuck
>>582530963This has to be a big, right? I'm about to savescum that shit because that can't be the intended outcome, can it
>>582530963Schizophrenia?
>>582532761Nope. No boobytrap behind the door, nothing. Reloaded and tried a few times to recreate it. My only idea is that the solar suitcase is really, really old and isn't really supported in game any more, and maybe has some old behaviour?Location was a pawnshop, the door behind the bars. I could believe a boobytrap being there, but without it destroying the door and then disappearing?
>>582530963That sounds very strange.
>>582535404No fuckin clue. Just...it damages the lock pick, but old legacy item gets damaged as well, does ludicrous damage, breaks arm. Wish I went into the debug before trying it again
>>582523953Who?
>>582535221Very weird, is this DDA or BN?
>the pitbull mix dies!
>>582531345Cataclysm is a hard-core game. Get used to it!(Joking)
>siamese cat spotted!
Are the cataclysm devs still big babies about killing babies?
>>582568419>killing a nurse who healed billions, a veteran who saved trillions from evil terrorists, a firefighter who rescued gorrilians of puppies and children from burning homes, or a heckin scientisterino whom worked in the field of science which I worshipino>I feel nothing>killing a zombie child that contributed nothing to society and probably believed in maga rhetoric>-9999999999 morale for 99999999 days
>>582573752That's why I play death row convict and get killer drive for free
>>582579871Wish killer drive would remove the penalty for killing innocent humans
I’m coming back to the game after a few years, do colds still cripple you for an absurdly long period of time?
>>582581834I think it does at least BN.
masketta
Good night, /rlg/
I really like neo scavenger for the crackhead simulator aspect and I want to get into cataclysm, should I go with dda or bn for a similar experience?
>>582595007dda I think. bn goes very quickly from bum with a stick to mowing shit down with lasers.
>>582595007>crackhead simulatorwat.you mean you spend most of your runs in hobo mode running from most enemies and surviving on scraps? if so then yeah dda would be better unless you willingly set several character handicaps on bn
might be time to move to a bigger base. the survivor encampment I'm in now is gonna be super crowded with all these guys plus my airship
>>582595007I think crack was nerfed in DDA
>>582601428Got your own harem at this point.
>>582595007Dda. Its just too easy to become a technowizard in bn, your hobo phase lasts hours ingame. If you REALLY want to gimp yourself, choose illiterate, psychosis, the "won't drive cars" trait, but choose the fleet footed and parkour traits and make yourself strong and good dexterity, so you have a chance of hoborunning cities. Just play like John conner in terminator 1, slugging zombie cops for their shotguns and wearing zombiehobo pants stolen from a hobozombie without stopping
>>5826079923 girls 3 boys. might have to take the guys off on a mission to clear out the city that sadly only I will survive. they won't be remembered.
>>582609264>not the other way aroundGaaaaaaaay
how hard would it be to make it so we can change the "shape" of sprites so they are just flipped to face a different direction? a rear facing chair with the workbench sprites facing the other way would be pleasing to me.
>>582613830Isn't this a thing already in dda, there's a whole ingame system for letting you decide what each part of the car looks like.
>>582614647for some parts but not stuff like seats. worbenches also are wonky
biosilicified chitin is pretty good car armor for the weight. 460 durability at 2ish kg vs military that's 700 at 12kg
>>582597840>>582599238>>582608773Will try dda then, thanks /rlg/
I think a crater spawned on this wizard tower
>>582624690wtf are those stats?
>>582625034>autumn day 12looks like modded end game OP stats
>>582625034buffs from magical night's spells, rpg system and the armor I'm wearing from packrat that gives perception and int and a minor clairvoyance when powered on. basically what anon said above me. put it at 3x pop to even it out but it barely matters.
>BN players with multi laser gatling flying death machines>Me in CLG considering wondering how much ketchup is health to eat for sustainability, while hitting zombies through a fence with a spearDifferent kind of enjoyments.I do wish CLG had more aviation, i assume its only got the apache. But i haven't found a hitchhikers guide yet.
stop
>>582625818I keep wanting to post that old as fuck meme image from /v/ with the anons jumping off a cliff and the one of them at the bottom saying "i wish MORE of my bones were broken!". Anyone know the one? It was in regards to fuckin casuals
>>582631315Pajama time

>>582625818There's a bunch of different helicopters, but you basically can't find them. Also they can't be modified.
>like>rogue
is it true kevin trooned out
>>582654532>kevinWho? Don't you mean Maya Granade?https://github.com/kevingranade
>>582654845kek no way
>>582654845I feel a little bad for DDA. And him. I used to hold hope that eventually the discord trannies would become too much to bear and things would reverse course. But now it's inevitable that Cataclysm will continue to split and fracture into even more forks with no coherent anything left, and his personal life is permanently ruined.
a bonus of having high spawn rate is seeing weird shit like this more often.
>>582655740>I feel a little bad for DDA. And him.I don't.
>>582655068It's not really all that surprising.
turned off the stat scaling in the rpg system settings to kind of balance it a bit more but the stats are still kind of insane even debuffed to shitrespeccing the class and traits to just take traits that affects crafting or something fun like acrobat for jumping off of buildings and stuff
>>582673797Why not? Even if you are a soulless automata, at least Cataclysm being a better game would be in your interests.
>>582680163The current situation both with CDDA and the presence of prominent forks can be lay almost entirely as his feet.He is disagreeable and a poor project lead, at least as far as open source projects go.So no, I don't feel sorry for him, it's a rod he made for his own back.
>>582679880That's a least a bit more reasonable.
CDDA is intrinsically boring.Gets repetitive not even an hour in.
“FERALS could be here.” he thought, “I’ve never been in this evac shelter before. There could be FERALS anywhere.” The Wind: Gentle Breeze felt good against his bare chest. ”I HATE FERALS.” he thought. You listen to some pumping bass. reverberated his entire deathmobile, making it pulsate, even as the gallon jug+ 〉245ml cheap wine circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of Hell’s Raiders after dark. “With a deathmobile you can go anywhere you want” he said to himself, out loud.
bigly
how do you keep up with zombie evolution in dda? I spent too long reading books and eating snacks and I don't think my quarterstaff is gonna cut it against these things
unga>>582714608guns
do zombies get back up in BN? i don't seem to do anything to them when i smash them
>>582715827there's a mod that disables zombie from getting back up and it's enabled by defaultcheck your modlist
>check out "roguelike" game>it doesn't even have deck based combat
hope nothing cool was in there. it was on fire when I got here.
>>582715942yeah it was on. I turned it off and i hope it doesn't nuke my save
Ragu
Romanlikes for this feel?
i started watching Day of the Triffids since I found a finale in a lab with a triffid in it. its kind of peak.
>>582724452Wait triffids are from a book?
Fun fact, 4chan keeps a 7 day archive, not 3 days like the archive page claims. You can pull threads via the api thay dont show up on the archive page
>>582723724that better not be a boy
>>582724630oh lol i thought it was just a movie. but yeah it was originally a book apparently. Haven't finished it yet but the premise is actually great. >meteor shower happens to blind a huge chunk of the population, anyone who watched it>then giant killer plantsdude who wrote it knew JUST ayys aren't *that* scarywould be neat to make a scenario where you start blind in a triffid grove in bn or dda

>>582723724I really like that artistbut the closest thematically to anything Greco-Roman I've seen was actually that one Egyptian pyramid RL that got panned because animations were too slow
>>582725057Oh I was just shitposting, it is from a book?
