I just started DD2, I got to the main city then got some quests.Upon my way to Harve(spelling?) Village to kill some scalie bastards, a Gryphon started chasing my ass.I shot it in the head with Death blow(idk, the upgrade to Dire) and did basically 0 damage.I did enhance my bow so it does around 210 damage.I just ran away. I can fight Ogre's without much of an issue, at least.I spent a couple hours wandering around looking for Seeker's tokens and ferrystones.I do wish the Mage pawn I recruited gave me elemental weapons, but she does some electrical thing/frost AoE attack/heals.

Archer and Sorcerer combo well, and you can control the consistency of those interactions much more now that warfarer has +2 abilities.

They use magnetic levitation and electrical resistance to tell where the joystick is, rather than a physical connection. This is what causes drift, the wear patterns on the contacts mean that the stick can't sit completely neutral. Using magnets alleviates this a lot because there's no physical connection between the sensors and the stick itself, so as long as you can register the sticks neutral position the controller can tell when its moving and when it isn't.

They'll spam these uselessly.Pawns are good at using Impeccable Guard. It looks silly in the preview, but it's kino in-game. Trust. They're also scary good at perfect blocking so a mage benefits them a lot.Do not underestimate having Launchboard on Arisen. Pawns you launch can also launch you if they land on a large enemy. Probably the coolest shit in gaming, in my opinion.You don't need every defensive skill at the same time, figure out which ones you like and use those. I like Counter Slash on Arisen and Hindsight Slash on pawns.There's basically "two tiers" of defense, one for fast annoying enemies, the others for large brutish enemies. I typically just use Full Moon Slash for small enemies and Divine Defense for big enemies.That's mostly it.

If they added it, and then you went to Unmoored and now there's no respawning dragons and no big dragons you can fight without going straight to NG+... everyone would be pissed off that you can just completely fail to upgrade your gear if you progress through the story, and force you into NG+ to do to. Currently they push you towards getting just enough WLC to dragonforge a set for you and your pawn and if you want more thats where the grinding comes in.And yes, they could have done a different system, but the game is also unfinished and nobody can be certain how important the Unmoored World as an idea was to the designers.
