That being said, there are important scenes in the common route that only unlock as you clear the normal routes. You're supposed to start the entire game from scratch after clearing each route. Also if you want to beat the baseball game and get the scenes related to that, it's partially RNG, but your stats carry over across routes and help. The most important routes for Refrain are Komari, Kurugaya, and Rin obviously. The best heroine route in the game is Saya (in my opinion at least), which unlocks after you clear Refrain.
