Can't believe im saying this but the twitterfag is 100% right, Alcryst/Ivy is objectively a shit support by all metrics, maybe one of the worst in the series. Alcryst totally castrates himself and apologizes to Ivy right away in the C Support, removing any drama or tension that could've made the support actually good. Instead Alcryst reverts to his Komuro quirk of "I'M SO SOWWY AAIIIEEEEE" which makes him look like a gag character nobody takes seriously. In a better written Kusakihara game or hell, even Awakening, the character conflict would've lasted a bit longer and not be resolved right away in like 5 seconds. Engage is fundamentally a game with 0 stakes and everyone needs to get along with each other.

What makes the support even worse is that the game blue balls you beforehand. You see Alcryst have a chud moment and lash out at Ivy before Diamant tells him to shut up. So you when you see Alcryst and Ivy and support, you think "ok this support will probably be good" but nope. You just more Komuro quirkiness.

Got all the Divine Classes and they really annoy me because they’re obviously meant for the eight lords, but they don’t actually fit everyone. Like, there are two classes for swords and bows that basically only fit Leda, while Talimun gets nothing because, for some reason, there isn’t a sword + magic class. Seriously, so far I have.

I think my issue is that the part 3 gate maps are pretty bad with it but most of them would be completely empty without some mechanic like that too. And I would prefer the emptiness lol, I kind of enjoyed some of the large scale wide open maps like Clash and Battle Reunion in PoR, so it probably makes me an outlier for it.
Other than that I find some of the criticism of act 3 being more of a Settlers of Catan grind very disingenuous, if you go through all four routes in act 1 you will not be resource gated at any point of it, its just a matter of reclaiming lost lands and getting the god gates active

What are you talking about? The overwhelming opinion is that part 1 is the best part. Part 2 being a mixed bag depending on if you actually like Fire Emblem (which if you liked part 1, you probably do not like part 2). Then part 3 is overwhelmingly total shit for everyone whether they liked part 1 or part 2.

The more I look at this game, the more I realize the grind is largely psychological. It will make you feel like you need to be doing a lot of stuff but then you realize
>having just 1 skill ranked at C will give you a decent chance of passing Adavnced certs
>you can buy tons of seals in Dagsion and the world map each chapter so future-proof against failed certs
>you get like 15 free advanced and specialty certs if you play Part 2 anyway
I don't even know why I'm going out of of my way to do what little grinding I still am doing, even after realizing inns handle most of it. I'm going to stop going back into town to train skills every week. If I'm there anyway, sure, but I'm not going to go out of my way to do it.

The world map/timed objective stuff returned, I like the general macro management that it entails. I liked making multiple squads while still having the main gate maps carry a high degree of difficulty; juggernaut units fall off in part 2 and that retains in part 3 (exception being eshmel, to a degree). I liked making super squads of my favorite unit compositions and seeing the supports pay off from the beginning of the game. I actually like the heavy unit spam that a lot of maps have and the battle of attrition that it leads to

My Peter turned out really good, but Tialla was just a Physicbot and Ultand was a mediocre.
I got a great Peter without putting him on a Chariot, but if you DO put him on a Chariot with a bonded horse, he's all but guaranteed to become a monster.

If you cleared all four routes, I don't see how this is possible. The maps are only hard if you are missing lords/mechanics.

This just isn't true unless you are trying to force scrimblo's. The main lords + retainers are completely broken.
